I would like to purchase your item ASUS BW-16D1HT, 4K UHD Friendly 5.25" Internal Blu-ray Writer Drive, fitted to a OWC Mercury Pro USB 3.0 Full Sized Premium Enclosure, on Firmware 3-01DE (Supports DVDfab, MakeMKV, Leawo, AnyDVDHD). Reads 4K UHD Discs, Libre-Drive Friendly . Currently out of stock.

Will any be available again in the foreseeable future? Can I be put on the waiting list? Or is it possible to make the item BW16D1HTCFWH16NS60D1-02MK compatible with DVDfab as well?

Yes. The W16NS60 must be flashed to 1.00 DE.

I would also like to order this drive, but just the drive on it's own as I already have an enclosure

Hi All

I bought 2 ASUS BW-16D1HT drives from amazon back in 2018

They have lately become sporadic in operation with been able to read UHD discs and only successfull from numerous opening and closing of the tray

When I head about Asmsom's shop on this forum, I cantacted him to see if the firmware could be updated to his version

After sending a few screenshots of the drive from the main screen of MakeMKV and with a 4K Bluray disc in the drive it was determined that these drives are FAKE

So beware of buying these drives. I will be buying one from Asmcom when they come back in to stock

Thanks a lot for the swift process, my ASUS BW-16D1HT arrived today and just finished my first 4K rip (on a disc I didn't even think would work)!

Everything pre-set up into the OWC Mercury Pro, all cables I need provided in the box, plugged in and it's going!

I'll let you know if I have any issues but I'm really chuffed with my purchase right now.

Hello everyone.

I must say I am amazed at Asmcom's efficiency and the excellent service even with all the extra work that was created for him

I ordered my drive shortly after 9am on Wednesday and recieved an email requesting payment a few minutes later

I sent the payment and recieved another email in minutes saying the order was accepted and payment was recieved with a shipment date on or before the 11th February

I recieved an email from Asmcom (Thursday) saying my drive had shipped and also some more emails with tips and trick on caring for and using the drive

I recieved an email from UPS (Thursday) saying my delivery would be between 10:15 and 12:15 on (Friday)

The drive arrived this morning (Monday) and i have succefully ripped my first disc

Sure. But WH16NS60 doesn't have the sleep bug and works better with 3-layer discs.

Yes, that is true, but some customers will tell you that firmware 1-02DE is better at reading discs, and the sleep bug does not bother them.

This is based on my personal experience. When BH16NS55 firmware (friendly) had issues to read in 3-layer UHDs at all or i had ro eject the discs several times before it would read in such discs WH16NS60 firmware (official) never had issues to read those in.

There is three models of the BH-16NS55, two of them are rubbish and one of them is brilliant. That is why we have sold 1500 items of the model number that is good.

As I told you, there are three model numbers,

BH16NS55.AHLU10B
LG BH16NS55.AUAR10B
BH16NS55.AVBR10B

One of them is good. I thought you could have worked that one out, Coopervid LOL. Anyway, hope you and your family are keeping well. Sorry if I don't reply, as we are flat out with getting these Pioneer drives out.
