Pioneer Drive Bd-RW BDR-XSO7U will not rip

Post by goodavis » Sun May 14, 2023 11:14 pm

I just purchased this unit on the recommendation of a youtube video. I keep getting errors on 4k movies(Saving Private Ryan 4k) (Ready Player One 4k) ultimately saying failed to open disc or back up failed. I tried (I-Robot) bluray, it ripped but the sound was horrible on it. Am I doing something wrong or do it need to send the unit back?

the sound being horrible is likly a play back problem not a ripping problem.
are these discs in perfect condition?
it would be strange for a pioneer to be bad i have had less that a 1% fail rate on mine.

Did you follow the cleaning recommendations for Blu-ray discs listed on the forum? It is very important to clean the discs every time you insert a disc in the drive.
