Ok, got it - I was curious about LibveDrive firmware, but it looks like it is not needed? Will try it today as-is.Do not flash this drive as it is on correct firmware. Leave as is
If you flash there is no going back, drive will not read UHD discs again. Do not flash.
Just sent you an email about buying one of these. Thanks!asmcom wrote: ↑Mon Jan 08, 2024 9:25 pmWe have these drives in stock on firmware 1-02

If you mean ASUS BW-16D1HT, then yes, once flashed it can rip UHD discs.weslovesnats wrote: ↑Tue Jan 16, 2024 4:13 amHi, Here is the nicely formatted data from AnyDVD (which now takes credit cards, I used them years ago). This is an internal SATA drive. I have had no problems with DVD and Blu-Ray (1080p) but UHD is what I'm trying to do - in this case I have the Bond boxed set with Craig's movies in UHD.
Summary for drive V: (AnyDVD HD 8.6.8.0, BDPHash.bin 20-03-11)
PIONEER BD-RWBDR-S13U 1.04
Drive (Hardware) Region: 1
Current profile: BD-ROM
Media is a Blu-ray disc.
Total size: 48876960 sectors (95462 MBytes)
Video Blu-ray label: NO_TIME_TO_DIE
Media is AACS protected!
AACS MKB version 76
UHD Blu-ray disc.
Drive supports bus encryption!
Disc wants bus encryption!
DRIVE NOT SUPPORTED BY MAKEMKV LIBREDRIVE!
couldn't retrieve AGID (bus encryption)!
ERROR processing Blu-ray disc!
What am about to add is an Asus which seems to match what you mentioned as compatible (I don't care for external drives when I have a full tower to mount an internal one), taken from the factory sticker on the top:
Short Model: BS-160HT
Longer model #: BW-1601HT/BLK/G/AS
I'd like to keep the old one and add the new one but I could do a replacement. Space is not the problem. While I plan to replace my Socket 2011 system, I'd like to wait until Intel 15th gen ships along with Win 12.This is loaded with multiple SSDs and a rather large amount of RAM so just getting a drive to work is the priority. It isn't clear if I can flash the existing drive or not (likely not). I'll know about the Asus when I install it and try a disk.
Is my understanding of what will work correct - or nearly so - above? I have about 20-30 UHD disks I want to rip. The other disks (even more in number) are largely TV series and will be a pain to get the files and [episodes by name or number] correct, and the existing drive will work for them but not UHD. So it's just UHD that is the risk at this moment.
There is no publicly available flasher for Pioneer drives.Saebasan wrote: ↑Sun Jan 21, 2024 7:02 amHello,
How can I flash this drive, in order to make it Libredrive enable?

Thank you.
The only way to enable UHD ripping on that drive is to contact Billycar11 and purchase his flasher.
Thank you but really? It sounds a little bit odd...MartyMcNuts wrote: ↑Sun Jan 21, 2024 11:49 pmThe only way to enable UHD ripping on that drive is to contact Billycar11 and purchase his flasher.
