That's a somewhat extreme action I wouldn't recommend. The previous poster did the equivalent by moving any dump files, _private_data.tar, keydb.cfg (if present), and sdf.bin (if present) out of the folder. They then power cycled their optical drive and rebooted their computer. In many cases, that'll fix up problems, as it did for you. I had a same issue with my drive. It worked afterwards
If you delete the whole folder, you'll lose any custom profiles you've made (in the .xml files) and any settings you changed (in the .conf files).
