Re: LibreDrive for Pioneer drives
I've was doing some tidying and discovered an BDR-XD08TB in a cupboard
Is it possible to enable LibreDrive for MakeMKV / UHD ripping on it, please?
Re: LibreDrive for Pioneer drives
The firmware is past 11/2022 and can't be flashed. Perhaps there's a solution in the future.

Ah, that’s a shame
Re: LibreDrive for Pioneer drives
We waited over 2 years for Mike to add LibreDrive support for firmware >= 2022-12. Don't give up on cross-flashing yet ...

Re: LibreDrive for Pioneer drives
Just wondering if anyone knew if the Pioneer BDR-211XJB with firmware 1.51 (2018) would work for LibreDrive/UHD ripping? I assume it would be because of the firmware date, but I cant seem to find this drive listed on the compatible/incompatible list or the LibreDrive list.

Sorry. Should have been more specific. I don't have this drive. I was thinking about purchasing it. Just wanted to be sure it would work first. Maybe this isnt enough info though?Billycar11 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 17, 2026 12:19 amInigoMontoya wrote: ↑Mon Feb 16, 2026 10:32 pmJust wondering if anyone knew if the Pioneer BDR-211XJB with firmware 1.51 (2018) would work for LibreDrive/UHD ripping? No one can be sure one way or another until we can see the MakeMKV drive info & libredrive info sections.InigoMontoya wrote: ↑Tue Feb 17, 2026 12:54 amSorry. Should have been more specific. Re: LibreDrive for Pioneer drives
I seem to be in the unfortunate boat where I have a Pioneer drive (BDR-XD08) with 2022-12-17 firmware that can't be cross-flashed to enable UHD playback/ripping.
I have seen on multiple posts that a future update of LibreDrive might make cross-flashing possible. Is there an estimated time-frame for when that would happen? And if it did, where would this kind of news be shared?Drive Information
OS device name: E:
Manufacturer: PIONEER
Product: BD-RW BDR-XD08
Revision: 1.02
Serial number: **************
Firmware date: 2022-12-27

LibreDrive Information
Status: Enabled
Drive platform: RS9330
Firmware name: PIONEER BDR-BDS8
Firmware type: Original (unpatched)

Re: LibreDrive for Pioneer drives
Thought I would post that my drive appears to be missing from the list even though it is supported according to the first post.RS8xxx and later, including RS9xxx RSAxxx and so on. Should be supported.
At the time of this writing none of the Pioneer drives require firmware update - they should just work.
If youre drive is listed above but is not supported, it means that it is not yet added to SDF.bin . Please post the drive model here.
BDR-207D FW v1.60, says its a RS8000 so it should be supported.
Anything I can do to help?
