You need to enable Internet access for Makemkv and then restart the drive (power cycle). Only Libredrive. UHD crossflashing is currently not possible.

I’m sorry, I can’t tell who you’re responding to and I am too new to pm.

So is my drive completely useless?

Internet access was already enabled, saw "Downloading latest SDF" in the window, restarted both MakeMKV and the drive (unplugged and plugged it back in) and the drive still says

Code: Select all

LibreDrive Information
Status: Possible, not yet enabled
Drive platform: Pioneer RS8D30
Firmware version: GENE
This is the Windows version of MakeMKV. On Linux, the program hangs if I insert a disc.

EDIT: FWIW I deleted the contents of the .MakeMKV folder, manually downloaded the SDF.bin file and placed it the folder, closed MakeMKV, unplugged the drive, waited 10 seconds, plugged the drive back in, started MakeMKV and it made no difference.
EDIT 2:
This is the Windows version of MakeMKV. On Linux, the program hangs if I insert a disc.
Turns out the Linux version has a bug that prevents certain drives from working at the moment.

I believe it's your firmware version GENE that is not yet supported. Makemkv should have saved a dump of it in the .Makemkv folder. If so please send it to support@makemkv.com.
