I submitted it (dump_FW_7BF4818ACE8CA66F7A9E.tgz) on 2 May.
Did you ever get this drive to work? I have the opportunity to buy one with ancient firmware but I can't find any mention of it being used successfully, despite it literally only being a model number change. The dump seems to have been sent in over a year ago, but it seems that it is still not supported?

Would it be helpful for me to buy the drive, get the dump, and send it in again? Do I need to pay someone to have support added? It's incredibly difficult to find any information on how exactly to get support for a drive added.
Please contact me if you have a compatible BDR-XD08UMB-S for sale.

Got another crazy idea for attempting a roll back. For this need 2nd drive with old firmware. Connect to pc via usb adapter and run installer where it will verify drive firmware version, put computer to sleep and swap drives and when machine wakes up attempt flash. Probably wont work but worth a try.

Other idea was to wait for newer version of installer to come out and swap binary files in the package. Again probably wont work.

Hello, any news on BD-RW BDR-XS08U ?
Im currently on:
Revision: 1.00 - Firmware date: 2022-10-11
Bus encryption flags: 1B
Highest AACS version: 61

I sent FW DUMP moment i received my drive but LibreDrive is still not enabled, yet ?
LibreDrive Information
Status: Possible, not yet enabled
Drive platform: Pioneer RS9621
Firmware version: ID69

Would that be possible in the future or it is not worth waiting for ?

You are the first one reporting firmware 1.00. All others reported 1.01 that was already encrypted less than 2 months later. So not many drives out their like yours. But I suggest to send a PM to mike as a reminder. Only chance for you. No other help possible.

And please don't update the firmware! Because it is rare and most precious...

Im glad i did not update to newest FW, there was issues with Pioneer driver in the past but that was resolved with OS update from Apple itself.

You only need a few posts, maybe 5 or 6 I think? before you are able to PM.
Cheers :D

Whether you buy MakeMKV or not, I still wouldn't update the firmware on that drive. At the moment, there's still a reasonable chance that it could support UHD. However, the whole point of any newer firmware would be to take that chance away completely.

(Hmm, did you expect a response from Mike after only 3 days? That seems a bit optimistic to me - I sent him a PM once which he didn't read for 3 months.)

Please be patient. We have NO firmware for your drive for flashing to make it UHD capable. So you don't miss anything in the meantime.

I am new to this so please excuse me for my ignorance.
I recently purchased a Pioneer BDR-S13J-X on Amazon and to my surprise it wasn't able to rip any of my 4k BD.
Basically it isn't Libre enabled.
Can someone kindly guide me to where I can get the old firmware from and the tool to flash my drive.
I'm 67 years young and have rudimentary tech knowledge.
