Thanks for the help. But I am not authorised to reply you through PM because I am too new here. Please send me the flasher. Thank you so much.

Hi, I've just created an account to seek some help, though I've been using MakeMKV for a few years now. Hopefully someone will be able to assist me.

Until just recently, I had been using an LG external blu-ray drive for ripping my BDs and DVDs. It still seems to work fine, but I decided to purchase a new Pioneer external BD Drive. I've noticed that LibreDrive does not automatically enable itself for the Pioneer drive like it does the LG. (EDIT: Upon further inspection, it seems that LibreDrive doesn't actually auto-enable, but it does say that it's available for the LG drive)

I'm hesitant to flash and potentially brick a brand new drive, so I'm hoping there is a simple solution that I'm clearly overlooking.

Here is the drive information MakeMKV gives me for the Pioneer drive:

OS device name: E:
Manufacturer: PIONEER
Product: BD-RW BDR-XD08
Revision: 1.00
Serial number: REDACTED
Firmware date: 2022-04-03
Bus encryption flags: 1B
Highest AACS version: 81

LibreDrive Information

Status: Possible, not yet enabled
Drive platform: Pioneer RS9330
Firmware version: GENE

Thank you in advance. I don't know if I'm able to receive PMs yet since I literally only just joined, but I hope someone here can point me in the right direction.

Conversely, since the LG is the older of the two drives I have less attachment to it so I would consider flashing that one for LibreDrive, if someone could help with that.

Hello there,

I am a newbie to this forum. There is a lot of good info here, thanks for providing. I recently purchased the BDR-S13U-X as well and was hoping I could obtain the latest flasher? I was going send a PM to Mike but I get an error since I just signed up.

Thanks in advance,

Sorry man that drive is to new.
If you can I recommend you return it if you want UHD and a pioneer best to get from a seller in your region

Thanks a lot man, that did the trick.
That's what I'd been doing, but it didn't work until now. I also changed the settings to more "read retry" attempts, I don't know if that helped make a difference, but I'm back on track.

The drive is compatible only when it has older firmware (prior to Dec 2022).
