Pioneer BDR-X13 Usb

Post by Reveille » Sat Sep 28, 2024 4:51 pm

Got this drive to use to rip my UHD drives to use in Meida Server at home and it works great with DVD Fab ripping blu-rays but not recognizing by UHD discs. Do I need to change the firmware.

Without knowing more about the drive, the answer is, "Donno".

What firmware does it have installed on it? Any firmware date on or after 12/22/2022 is blocked from delivering the drives capabilities to non-approved software, and blocked from accepting other firmware.

UHD only works on Pioneer drives with MakeMKV and that is only if the firmware date is prior to December 2022. Any newer and UHD readability doesn't work at all.
Cheers :D

This is all I can find in Windows Device Manager. I am assuming that 1.04 is likely the firmware so I am probably screwed with UHD on this drive.

Device USBSTOR\CdRom&Ven_PIONEER&Prod_BD-RW___BDR-X13&Rev_1.04\1714062522700103&0 was configured.

I suspect you are correct, but you could also install MakeMKV and report the contents of its "info" window (ideally with your drive's serial number redacted).

Read your PM.

Regarding your first post. It will only work for UHDs with Makemkv, XReveal and AnyDVD but not with DVDFab.

Hello,
I also have the drive, here is here is the data

OS device name: F:
Producer: PIONEER
Product: BD-RW BDR-X13
Revision: 1.01
Serial number: XXXXXXXXXXXXX
Firmware date: 2022-02-18
Bus encryption markings: 1B
Highest AACS version: 19

LibreDrive Information
Status: Possible, not yet enabled

If I understand this correctly, LibreDrive must be enabled. How can I activate LibreDrive?

Hopefully someone can give me a hint, thanks.
