Pioneer BDR-XD07UHD

Post by ArArdin » Mon Feb 28, 2022 11:50 am

Hi all,

I'm considering to buy this one because I always enjoyed the quality that Pioneer drives were build with. Does this one have it too?
If anyone has this drive, I'd like to know how handling and ripping experiences are. And if - next to MakeMKV - AnyDVD HD is supported too.

Thanks in advance.

Yeah, the list in the first post is exactly where I got it from.
I'm hoping owners could tell me a it more about the build quality and general experience. Or specific behaviour compared to other drives.

All Pioneer UHD drive models can rip UHD discs. I'm also certain that they only work with MakeMKV for UHD ripping purposes.
Cheers :D

That's not entirely accurate. While LibreDrive is most DEFINITELY needed, thus requiring MakeMKV be installed, there is another product that has been able to make use of LibreDrive enabled drives.

Hello ArArdin,

I have these drives in stock and I will be testing on Sunday. I can let you know how it goes and I can also supply you a drive to.

Yup. It works very well. I use it with my Pio and bu40n drives.

Huh, well there you go. I was not aware that that application worked with any official UHD drives. Does that include the LG official UHD drives?

Yes hence my mentioning the bu40n. ;) it works with any libredrive enabled drive, official or unofficial. Currently it's querying the sdf to see if a drive is supported by libredrive, activating it if it is, and then ignoring bus encryption on that drive. I love it because I always make a protected iso of my new discs so now I can just pop it in the drive and use its rip to iso function.

Thanks, but a few days ago I purchased a Pioneer BDR-S12UHT.

BTW I can confirm the BDR-S12UHT works with AnyDVD.
