Anyone have the BU40N 1.00 Firmware?

Looking to try something and thinking it's firmware related. I believe I didn't have this issue on the original 1.00 firmware but stupid me didn't make a copy. Rips 4K fine but both my BU40N drives won't rip a single Harry Potter BR disc Year 2. I bought the 8 Year collection that has both BR and UHD versions. I was able to rip it before but its not working now. and the only different I can think of was the firmware when I originally ripped it to where I'm ripping now. And before you ask, I did try to clean the disc and that hasn't helped.

first post from a drive flashing newbie here. first time trying to flash an LG BU40N I just purchased, and waiting to arrive this week. Is this 1.00 firmware you mentioned the best one for my new drive? I am confused with so many choices of firmwares and flashing methods. am hoping you can tell me which ones to use. I am on a mac, so can I just use the command line instructions for the mac/linux mentioned on Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2021? if so, where do I get the sdf.bin file mentioned in step one? on that same page there is a link for offline only sdf.bin file. is that the one I use?

follow the guide recommended firmware it is guaranteed to work on any firmware.
then if your software you use does not work then go to 1.00 makemkv works with them all
sdf bin is linked at the bottom of the guide
