Hi all. I think I might have messed up my drive and am wondering if someone could help me fix it, if it's even possible. I followed the steps on the "Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2025" and followed the steps for NB52 to > BP50NB40-NB50-1.03MK with enc > BP50NB40-NB50-1.03MK with bootloader/full flash > BP60NB10 1.00_HBD from Marty download/file.php?id=2143. Now my drive recognizes 4k discs, but when I go to open them, they say "The volume key is unknown for this disc _ video can't be decrypted." The drive does read DVDs and Blu-rays without a problem. Any help would be appreciated. I have tried a few 4K movies, and they were already on the list of completed items.

MakeMKV needs internet access to download it's hashed keys database. This database contains the keys for UHD discs and also for new AACS v82 blu-ray discs.Lavahead17 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 29, 2025 7:24 amHi all. When attempting to rip a UHD disc, copy and paste the log window text. We may then be able to help you further.
Cheers

Re: LG BP50NB40 not reading 4k
Using LibreDrive mode (v06.3 id=4ACF8047C3AC)
Using direct disc access mode
Loaded content hash table, will verify integrity of M2TS files.
Saved AACS dump file as C:/Users/gildn/.MakeMKV/MKB20_v77_Ferris_Bueller's_Day_Off_AAB7.tgz
The volume key is unknown for this disc - video can't be decrypted
Failed to open disc

So, I don't see any HK download messages in your log so I'd say you just have a disc that is not yet supported. You should email the generated dump file to svq@makemkv.com and in a few days or so the disc should be supported.Lavahead17 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 30, 2025 3:28 amUsing LibreDrive mode (v06.3 id=4ACF8047C3AC)

Additionally, there is the public KeyDB which you can download and extract to your MakeMKV data directory (same place the dumps are). Once you have done that, restart MakeMKV and try your disc again. If it is still not supported, submit a request for your disc to be added to the public KeyDB using the template: viewtopic.php?p=176733#p176733. This first post contains all info you need to download/use/submit requests for the public KeyDB.
Cheers

After rereading your first message, it looks like when I switched drives, it turned off the internet for MakeMKV. I turned it back on, and now all my discs are working. I appreciate your help. Thank you.
