I just flashed my LG WH16NS40 to DE_LG_WH16NS60_1.02_MK per instructions because the original firmware was encrypted. The instructions say that I can now flash to another firmware if I choose. Why would I want that? What are the benefits of a different firmware? The only version I could see that matches is the DE_LG_WH16NS40-NS50_1.02.
Thanks.
If you need / want compatibility with other rip software you can flash now to that, too. If you want to check burn quality with qpxtools you can also flash to WH16NS58 1.V5. Otherwise you should be all set.
I have an archgon MD-8107-U3 and I would like to rip UHD discs. My fireware is on version 1.02. I don’t have the technical experience to understand what I’m doing and I would like some reassurance that I’m not to screw something up. As I understand it, all I need is MakeMKV, the flasher, and the firmware pack. From there, all I need to do is flash the DE_LG_BU40N_1.03_MK.bin firmware, right? Am I missing anything?
Anyone have the tar file to put in the folder so my drive can read 4k disk. Thanks.
Huh??
You have to have a Libredrive enabled drive to be able to read 4k discs. If your drive is not Libredrive enabled, it may be able to be flashed to enable it.
What drive do you have? Can you copy and paste the MakeMKV drive info and Libredrive info sections?
Cheers

Both the 1.3.6 and the 1.3.5 versions of the Flasher will not download. I have tried both on my mac and my PC. It downloads all of the bytes, but never completes and complains about check internet connectivity. Sometimes it shows a download_repair.htm document. The version prior to that downloads just fine. I am not sure if you folks are aware, but just passing it on. Hope this helps!

Version 1.3.6 downloaded correctly for me using Safari on a Mac after I clicked through the warning about the connection not being HTTPS.

The link itself is https, but even if I edit it and make it http only it still resolves to https unless im clicking the wrong link...im clicking the one that is pinned to the the first post of this thread:
It must be something on my end. I turned off Malwarebytes website monitoring and that didnt help... so I tried the link on my iphone and AT&T's active armor's internt monitoring blocked the site saying it was malicious...but I turned that off and it downloaded fine. What is odd is Active Armor is not on my Mac/PC, unless it is something Cox Cable is blocking...but its not a block as it downloads all of the bytes then just hangs there and eventually times out on the PCs...very odd.
