Does anyone know the correct playlist (.mpls) number that we should be ripping?

00155.mpls is not correct for my disc. :( I've got a standard retail UHD disc, UPC code 31398 30482

I'm pointing to my JRE install but it doesn't help with the identifying...I've still got 100 something playlists.

Any help would be appreciated!

I also installed Java to see if it would flag the correct playlist but it didn't work for me.

Try playlist 71 for the retail NA disc.

I think that's it, thanks! I fast-forwarded through and everyone seemed to be looking worse and worse as it went on so I think it's in the right order. ;)

155 is definitely not right, and can quickly be confirmed. Not sure why the Java code is deciding it's correct.

071 on the other hand, is correct. I verified by comparing various timestamps with my Blu-Ray rip.

I'm not sure if there are different NA discs, but I can confirm the following for my UHD disc (NA disc, same UPC as mentioned above):

Playlist 71 is incorrect. Playlist 832 is correct. DVDFab also (incorrectly) selected 71 as the correct playlist.

On my disc, there are four "corrupted" streams (00505.m2ts, 00507.m2ts, 00512.m2ts, 00506.m2ts), where the video is garbled, and corresponding non-corrupted streams (00500.m2ts, 00502.m2ts, 00504.m2ts, 00508.m2ts).

Playlist 71 contains 2 of these corrupted streams (00512.m2ts, 00507.m2ts), while playlist 832 contains the correct ones (00504.m2ts, 00502.m2ts). The order is otherwise correct on playlist 71.

For those of you that have ripped playlist 71, will someone please check the following short sequences (~30 seconds and ~20 seconds) for video corruption?
0:03:50.521 - 0:04:19.216
0:07:04.006 - 0:07:23.692

What's stated above is definitely correct for my disc, but I'm curious to know if Lionsgate produced variations of this title.

Playlist 832 (good)
00511.m2ts
00504.m2ts
00501.m2ts
00500.m2ts
00503.m2ts
00502.m2ts
00509.m2ts
00508.m2ts
00510.m2ts

Playlist 71 (bad)
00511.M2TS
00512.M2TS
00501.M2TS
00500.M2TS
00503.M2TS
00507.M2TS
00509.M2TS
00508.M2TS
00510.M2TS

I confirm 4k mpls71 has at least the first garbled screen, didn't go beyond that. Glad I checked against my previous Bluray rip before running through Handbrake.

Trying mpls832 now

I also can confirm garbled scenes on 71. 832 looks good at those times.

Since everyone's mentioning the NA version, I just wanted to confirm that the UK disc looks the same, that is tons of playlists, most fake, pointing to garbled footage or using incorrect order of the segments.

That said, I've watched those segments and can confirm that playlist 832 (the one with segments 511 504 501 500 503 502 509 508 510) is also correct on the UK disc... assuming it's actually a different release. They could be the same, but just putting it out there in case someone from the EU wonders.

Will probably chalk this up to a bad disc...

Code: Select all

For anyone curious, I resolved this by temporarily disabling unlimited speed for UHD media on the WH16NS60.
Having the same issue with a WH16NS40. limiting the speed doesn't help, it's a brand new disc with no scratches. Not sure what's going on.

This thread helped me find the correct playlist - Thanks! I have documented the correct tracks for the US release here: https://thediscdb.com/movie/requiem-for ... 4k/discs/2 for future reference (and if you are interested in bonus features or chapter names)
