I just tried and was not able to decrypt my copy. I sent in my dump files for the Best Buy USA Steelbook variant. Thank you as always to the developers!

I thought I will just post it here, not opening a new thread for this...

Has anyone noticed the broken HDR metadata on that disc? Or is this specific to my german copy of that movie?

The first second or so has the following metadata:
mastering display minLum: 0.005 nit and maxLum 4000 nit, no maxCLL or maxFALL

The rest of the movie...
mastering display minLum: 0.0001 nit and maxLum 1000 nit, maxCLL 1052 nit and maxFALL 400 nit

My BluRay player just sends 0.005/4000 to the TV when playing the disc, madVR and mpv the 0.0001/1000 + maxCLL/maxFLL to the TV...
When playing back a sample mkv of that movie (first second cut off) the BD player also sends the correct (?) 0.0001/1000 metadata to the TV.

I checked this with my hdfury device and also mpv with vo=gpu-next. The newest version will show the metadata in the info overlay (opened by hitting i)

Can someone confirm this with a different rip? Thanks!

I'm having the same issue. How do you do a file dump?

MakeMKV will create a .tgz file automatically when it does not have the necessary key to decrypt a disc. It puts the file in the MakeMKV data directory as defined on the General tab of MakeMKV's preferences.

Right, but do I need to submit anything here in order for that to happen. It's the second copy I have bought and neither would rip.

You need to email that TGZ dump file to svq@makemkv.com. And if you would like to add your disk to the public KEYDB.cfg file as well, you could also upload that TGZ file into a file host such as Google Drive or OneDrive, and then reply here with a public download link.

Below is what I get in the log window. I have searched for the .tgz file and I can't find it. I went to finder, Show hidden files: Press Command + Shift + . (the period/full stop key) on your keyboard. This will reveal hidden folders (their names will appear slightly grayed out).Locate the folder: Look for the folder named .MakeMKV.Find your file: Open the .MakeMKV folder to find your .tgz dump file. I don't have a folder named .MakeMKV.

These errors suggest that MakeMKV can already decrypt your disk, and so it will not have created a TGZ dump file. It actually looks like your UHD drive cannot read a section of the file '/BDMV/STREAM/00006.m2ts' correctly, which means the first thing to try would be cleaning the disk. And perhaps try using a second UHD drive, if you have one.
