I'm new and was wondering how do I get my Sonic 3 UHD to rip. Is there something else I need to download?

I have submitted an additional entry for this movie. File name:
MKB20_v77_Sonic_The_Hedgehog_3_EAE2.tgz
MKB20_v77_Sonic_The_Hedgehog_3_EAE2.tgz

Email your TGZ dump file to svq@makemkv.com. You can also post your dump file here for good measure (either as an attachment or by providing a download link), so that other people can try adding your disk to KEYDB.cfg.Animaleyez wrote: ↑Wed Apr 16, 2025 4:09 pmI'm new and was wondering how do I get my Sonic 3 UHD to rip. Re: Sonic The Hedgehog 3 Dump Submitted
Strange i have the ff70 variant and i am getting the can not download error but have not had this issue in the past. Is there a manual way to download the file?
Re: Sonic The Hedgehog 3 Dump Submitted
The UHD FAQ may help you with downloading the latest "hashed keys". However, the latest KEYDB.cfg file also contains the keys for the FF70 variant. You could therefore try downloading this file, copying it into MakeMKV's data directory (i.e. where MakeMKV also writes its TGZ dump files) and restarting MakeMKV.

Done and done. I'm not familiar with this process so thank you for you patience. So now what do I need to do?MrPenguin wrote: ↑Wed Apr 16, 2025 9:54 pmEmail your TGZ dump file to svq@makemkv.com. Now you've emailed your TGZ dump file to svq@makemkv.com, the next step is just to wait until MakeMKV can decrypt your disk.Animaleyez wrote: ↑Thu Apr 17, 2025 4:43 amDone and done. I'm not familiar with this process so thank you for you patience. So now what do I need to do?
What is the full name of your TGZ dump file please? The FF70 variant's key is already in KEYDB.cfg, which means you could decrypt your disk right now by downloading KEYDB.cfg, copying it into MakeMKV's data directory (i.e. where MakeMKV also writes its TGZ dump files) and restarting MakeMKV. If you have any other variant then you would need to provide your TGZ dump file here so that The Powers That KEYDB could examine it.

Re: Sonic The Hedgehog 3 Dump Submitted
I've sent the dump file to the email address that you gave originally. That was the 1st part. I've uploaded the dump file as well. I was just wanted to verify the exact location I should put the KEYDB.cfg file. Again I appreciate your patience and I'm fairly new to this. Thanks again in advance.MrPenguin wrote: ↑Thu Apr 17, 2025 10:23 amNow you've emailed your TGZ dump file to svq@makemkv.com, the next step is just to wait until MakeMKV can decrypt your disk.Animaleyez wrote: ↑Thu Apr 17, 2025 4:43 amDone and done. Where did you upload your dump file to, please? I cannot see it here... Although it would only be interesting if not the FF70 variant.Animaleyez wrote: ↑Thu Apr 17, 2025 12:40 pmI've uploaded the dump file as well. I was just wanted to verify the exact location I should put the KEYDB.cfg file.

I sent the dump file to the email address you requested me to. My email is animalyez@gmail if that helps. I don't know exactly where I'm supposed to put the KEYDB.cfg. I've attached a screen shot of the sent email. Please let me know how else I can be of assistance to resolve this.MrPenguin wrote: ↑Thu Apr 17, 2025 1:41 pmWhere did you upload your dump file to, please? I cannot see it here... There are two different key mechanisms. One is built into MakeMKV. When a new disc comes out, users submit the MakeMKV generated dump files to svq@makemkv.com and eventually, once the key is generated, MakeMKV will automatically download the key and use it.Animaleyez wrote: ↑Thu Apr 17, 2025 4:46 pmI sent the dump file to the email address you requested me to. The second key mechanism is the public KEYDB.cfg. This is separate from MakeMKV, but they can use the same dumps MakeMKV generates to create keys that get included in a big public database. You have to either attach the dump to a post here or put the file on the internet somewhere and post a download link here so the good folks who contribute to KEYDB.cfg can get your dump and process it into a key that gets included in the big public database.
MakeMKV, in addition to its built-in key mechanism, can also use the public KEYDB.cfg, but you have to set it up manually. You have to download KEYDB.cfg and put it into the right spot for MakeMKV to see it and also use it. And you'll have to occasionally update it manually as well. The upside to KEYDB.cfg is it is often updated with new keys faster than the built-in mechanism that MakeMKV uses by default.

Re: Sonic The Hedgehog 3 Dump Submitted
Thank you for this explanation, however with this explanation I'm still left with the question of how? More so where. I don't know where to put the KEYDB.cfg to complete the process. This is what I'm asking for specifically. I have MakeMKV, I have the KEYDB.cfg. Now the question is where do I put the KEYDB.cfg to complete the process of updating that allows MakeMKV to work with this movie. This is the part that is shrouded in mystery for the novice. I have the components and I don't know how to combine them to finish this project.dcoke22 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 18, 2025 1:17 pmThere are two different key mechanisms. One is built into MakeMKV.
