Extremely new to this forum and the overall MakeMKV world.
I just purchased an archgon 4k bluray/4kUHD usb drive for the use of ripping a small collection of 4kuhd movies I have come into possession of to add to my plex collection.
When opening the 4kuhd disc in MKV and scan the disc I ger the following error:
Error 'Scsi error - ILLEGAL REQUEST:COPY PROTECTION KEY EXCHANGE FAILURE - KEY NOT ESTABLISHED' occurred while issuing SCSI command AD010..080002400 to device 'SPTI:\Device\CdRom7'
Can't read AACS VID from disc - most likely current AACS host certificate is revoked by your drive
Saved AACS dump file as C:\Users\jdrew/.MakeMKV/MKB20_v77_The_Mandalorian-_Season_3_Disc_1_D61B.tgz
LibreDrive compatible drive is required to open this disc - video can't be decrypted.
Failed to open disc
Can anyone offer me some input/help? not overly skilled with the process but eager to learn!

So, for UHD discs, libredrive must be enabled. If the drive is on stock firmware, libredrive will not be enabled and UHD discs can't be read.crabtown21817 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 25, 2026 1:46 amExtremely new to this forum and the overall MakeMKV world.

Now, the issue with Archgon is they changed the PCB in their enclosure around the middle of last year and they no longer allow flashing nor libredrive to function. With the Archgon, your options are:
1. Flash and use the drive outside the enclosure permanently.
2. Remove the drive from the enclosure, flash it and insert it in to some other branded enclosure to use.
3. Return the Archgon and buy something else. There are a couple of Verbatim models (43888 and 43889, also possibly the 43890) that also contain a Lg BU40N drive inside, just like the Archgon but the Verbatims can easily be flashed.
Cheers

Thank you! I am going to return the archgon drive, and i just ordered the verbatim 43888 drive. not familiar with "flashing" how would I go about doing that when the drive gets here in a couple of days?
Thank you!
Thank you!

If on Windows you can use the SDFtoool Flasher. viewtopic.php?p=94848#p94848crabtown21817 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 28, 2026 12:17 amThank you! Otherwise, for Linux & Mac, the Ultimate UHD drive guide 2026 viewtopic.php?p=74718#p74718 has some CLI commands.
