Backing up disc into folder "D:/Movies/Tron Ares 4k"

The latest KEYDB.cfg file already contains this disk.

Thanks for the replies. I did a search for Tron Ares before posting and no search results. I won't touch the KEYDB website. All I get are major security warnings when I try to visit so I guess I will just wait.

Those warnings are probably because the site only supports HTTP and not HTTPS.

Something I agree with - there are a LOT of sites that have no reason to spend hundreds of dollars or euros each year to keep HTTPS active, and every year, it gets MORE expensive. You either get "free" certificates that require manual installation every 30 days, or more expensive ones that start at USD 50 per year.

I maintain over a dozen sites. None of which have commercial value. None of which have certificates. I also maintain several sites that DO have commercial value; two of which cost just shy of USD 500 each to "protect" for a year (wildcard certificates are NOT cheap!).

The keydb database is free; no one is charged for using it. There are still costs associated with it, but why add another one?

Thanks the heads up. I was able to download the KeyDB file and the Helper App. This is the first time I've ever had a problem with ripping a movie disc and I don't frequent this site often. Sorry for posting a redundant post, and in the wrong area. Despite all the reading I did, I thought I was following instructions correctly. I'm sure you get bombarded every day with useless posts

Thank you for all you do and pointing me in the right direction. As I'm writing this I am now successfully ripping Tron Ares UHD. :)

If you're on Windows you can use my tool which is a front end for FindVUK. That will allow you to see information about your discs and also keep the KeyDB sync'd and installed where MakeMKV can use it.

Yes, it worked perfectly. Thanks for creating it and making it available.

I'm a little confused on this. I'm on Linux and thought that the _private_data.tar file in the .MakeMKV folder was what contained the keys. Mine has an update date of this morning. I don't have a separate keys file in that folder but everything has worked up until now. Am I missing something that I need to update manually?

The public keydb is a separate mechanism for obtaining keys. MakeMKV has its own process, however, if you drop a KEYDB.cfg file in the data directory (where the tgz files are created that you email in) it can ALSO use that as a source of keys.

Just remember to update it periodically as it's constantly getting new keys added to it at random intervals throughout each day.
