Multiple dumps submitted

Post by Mikeike951 »

Hello,

I submitted the following dumps on 8-17. I have searched to see if these had been submitted previously, but I haven't found any so far. Apologies if I missed one already been resolved. Scott Pilgrim is the one I've had issues with for a few weeks, but I think I sent the wrong dump originally. Also I've done findVUK and moved the file to be within MakeMKV as well.

MKB20_v61_Kong-_Skull_Island_439F.tgz
MKB20_v76_Edge_of_Tomorrow_0221.tgz
MKB20_v72_Casino_Royale_F1BF.tgz
MKB20_v72_Quantum_of_Solace_514F.tgz
MKB20_v72_Skyfall_9FC1.tgz
MKB20_v72_Spectre_0019.tgz
MKB20_v61_Batman_Begins_440F.tgz
MKB20_v68_The_Dark_Knight_51FF.tgz
MKB20_v61_Dark_Knight_Rises_A453.tgz
MKB20_v76_Dune_5BCB.tgz
MKB20_v76_Godzilla_74EF.tgz
MKB20_v76_Scott_Pilgrim_vs_the_World_9947.tgz

I also submitted these too on 8-20, so can definitely understand if these may not be done.

MKB20_v60_Star_Trek_1D1B.tgz
MKB20_v60_Star_Trek_Into_Darkness_A9A9.tgz
MKB20_v61_Star_Trek_Beyond_15F1.tgz

How many of these disks can you unlock by downloading the latest KEYDB.cfg file, copying it into MakeMKV's data directory (where MakeMKV also writes its TGZ dump files) and then restarting MakeMKV?

Do you see this message in the log?

Code: Select all

Automatic HK downloading is disabled or failed.
Fixing Volume Key is Unknown

I would expect most of those movies to have a hashed key available. MakeMKV generating dumps for all of them suggests MakeMKV is having trouble downloading the necessary hashed keys.

I have followed the instructions in that post. I didn't have the debug log on beforehand, but I've since turned it on. Throughout the multiple changes, I've gotten various levels of success in the log. I didn't save the one that got the farthest, but it would state that it would begin the download for the HK, stay there for 30 sseconds, then go to the automatic HK downloading is disabled message. I've tried both 8.8.8.8 and 1.1.1.1 at the Windows level and MakeMKV, confirmed the preferences have online access turned on, I've used a VPN as well. Assuming this is a geoblock, I did find viewtopic.php?p=133799 but I'm not sure how to do that. I don't know if I maybe changed too much, but right now, MKV doesn't even indicate trying to download the keys.

I've tested the Fixing Volume Key is Unknown message, and updated the IP listed within it. This message also lists the IP that currently hosts the HK download file and how to get around most DNS blocks.

But, that doesn't stop geo blocks. It could be something in your router, even; you get past the IP block, but the router refuses to connect, sometimes based on the country of the IP you're accessing. THAT is damn difficult to get past.

That helped out a lot! I'm also happy to report that discs are now ripping again. That thread helped out a lot. I didn't realize the dar file was an older age, so it clearly worked at some point. I still needed a VPN, I just needed to think of where to connect with the VPN. Heck before that I even used my phone as a hotspot and nothing. I'm just glad it will work again.
