You cannot attach it. You'll need to upload it into (say) OneDrive or Google Drive, and then reply with a public download link. And don't forget to email it to svq@makemkv.com as well.

Have you tried downloading the latest public KeyDB and extracting it to the MakeMKV data directory (where the dumps go)? There are already 3 different records in the database:

MKB20_v82_MI_FINAL_RECKONING_A432
MKB20_v82_MI_FINAL_RECKONING_625C
MKB20_v82_MISSION-_IMPOSSIBLE_THE_FINAL_RECKONING_9EAA

If your dump is the same as one of these, then the KeyDB file should work for you.
Cheers :D

Hi

Sorry for sounding dumb, but where & how do i extract the KeyDB file?
Having checked my dump file, it ends with A432, so hopefully if you could point me in the right direction i should be good to go..\

Is anyone else having trouble accessing the public KeyDB cfg download?
Edit: Never mind it must be very busy.

Which variant? There are already 3 variants in the KeyDB. Is yours one of these?

MKB20_v82_MI_FINAL_RECKONING_A432
MKB20_v82_MI_FINAL_RECKONING_625C
MKB20_v82_MISSION-_IMPOSSIBLE_THE_FINAL_RECKONING_9EAA

If yours is not one of these, please post the dump file name, host it somewhere and provide a download link.
Cheers :D

If you explain to me how to find that information I can know for the future. I've owned makemkv forever and this is only the third time it has not been able to rip something right away. I've just waited in the past because I didn't know what to do.

The MakeMKV log window would tell you it created a tgz dump file for the disc and if you click on it, it will open up the data directory where the dump file is located.

Each dump file has a 4 character code at the end of it.

MKB20_v82_MI_FINAL_RECKONING_A432
MKB20_v82_MI_FINAL_RECKONING_625C
MKB20_v82_MISSION-_IMPOSSIBLE_THE_FINAL_RECKONING_9EAA

These three already have records in the public KeyDB file. If you are on windows, the easiest way to get the KeyDB is to use SamuriHL's tool. The synchronise button will connect to the KeyDB server and download the latest KeyDB release. There are links in this post: viewtopic.php?p=176733#p176733 if you want to download it manually and extract it to the MakeMKV data directory (where the tgz dumps are).

The way to check if it already exists is to search the KeyDB for the discID, which is the SHA-1 of the Unit_Key_RO.inf file located in the AACS folder on the disc (or in the generated dump file). SamuriHL's tool also has a search button to do this.

Whenever MakeMKV cannot decrypt a disc, the standard process is the first point below:
  • Email the generated tgz dump file to svq@makemkv.com so that MakeMKV can derive the key and add it to their internal hashed keys.
  • So now that you have emailed the dump, if you also would like to help the community, first thing to do is either synchronize the KeyDB using SamuriHL's tool or download the latest public KeyDB zip file and extract it to the MakeMKV data directory (where the dumps are located). After doing this, if you still cannot rip the disc, you probably have a variant that is not yet in the KeyDB. If you generated the dump using a non Pioneer drive (as dumps from Pioneer drives for UHD discs are only useful to MakeMKV, not the public KeyDB), make a post in the Public KeyDB Sumbissions thread providing:
    • the drive model used to create the dump file.
    • the full name of the dump file.
    • a download link for the dump file after you have hosted it somewhere (such as google drive, onedrive, mediafire etc..)
Cheers :D
