Hi, all. Newby here, so please allow that this is my first post. I have a mid 2023-vintage Zappiti NAS 4K SE with an internal Asus drive and an external Pioneer drive, both drives are 4K capable and proven. This NAS was originally delivered with AnyDVD installed, but was successfully converted to MakeMKV 1.17.7 about a month ago.
I just obtained the U.K. 4K region-free release of Easy Rider, which came with a companion Blu-ray. Neither of these two discs will rip. But instead of merely ejecting the discs as failed, the system commences the rip and then proceeds at an excruciatingly slow pace...as in, a few of hundredths of a percent per minute. If the rip was even going to succeed, it would have taken days. It does eventually screech to a halt, though, after a few of percent finished. Normally, when I get a fail on a 4K rip, I will pop in the companion Blu-ray and that will rip without issue. Not this time..both discs exhibit the same issue. I just checked the 4K database here, and this release is still not on the list. Both discs play perfectly in my region-1-only Panasonic 820 player. Is there a way for me to solve this issue?

What does MakeMKV's log output say?Dr. Manhattan wrote: ↑Thu Sep 05, 2024 4:53 pmI just obtained the U.K. 4K region-free release of Easy Rider, which came with a companion Blu-ray. Thanks for the reply, and sorry for the delay in getting back to you. In order to try to answer your question, I retried the rip. It failed three times before I posted my initial question, but now, for some reason, the 4K disc ripped right in...as did the Blu-ray when I tried that as well! Don't ask me...I have no idea why now, but not before. I just rechecked the 4K 'go' list here, and this release is still not on it. Yet, I'm good to go. Thanks again!
