Doesn't seem to be a different service, but maybe they do have multiple versions for different displays.
600 nits, 1000 nits, etc. are all possible targets for Dolby Vision.

That would explain how the MaxCLL is very close to the target..
Yes, that's possible and totally makes sense but I think it's from different streaming websites. It's available on Itunes India.

I know that most of the disney+ web-dl are actually from Hotstar India and not from Disney+ America.
The bitrate/metadata and quality are not the same (also theres no mediainfo x265 encoding settings visible on disney+ web-dl):
Disney+ stream is at 16mb/s and Hotstar 20mb/s but Disney plus is still in slightly higher quality: https://screenshotcomparison.com/comparison/12072

Right now in hdr mode it plays in funky colors bt2020
Yes web dl meta was correct just triple checked after getting hdr version.
wait what ? now the metadata match ??

funky colors: yep its a bug on HBO app Shield in 23.976 ... if you switch to 60hz, you should get the HDR10 stream.

Funky colors only in HDR10? Or also DV on the app at 23.976?

Only hdr10
Sometimes u get dv in the funky colors too happens with wonder & only on the shield tv
Apple a few occasions

It glitches switching to 60fps fixes that it try’s to play the dv file while it is still loaded by the hbo app so u get bt2020 12-422 funky colors no triggering,
Exit app reset no issue in dv mode I sometimes I switch the vertex2 back to hdr10 mode to get meta mean while still in the app so like I said dv file still loaded.

DV is fine but when you have an HDR10 only display and try to play HDR content in 23.976 on HBO, you get the DV stream with green and purple colors

For those with Ugoos or Minix with Ugoos 0.40 firmware, what options are you seeing in Dolby Vision display settings?

I only get:

- Dolby vision enable with low latency (YUV)
- Dolby vision disable

And Always on toggle

The reference to “low latency” makes me think it is player led not TV led. I have Panasonic GZ1000

With DV off, are you getting the correct colours now for the SDR/HDR10 test patterns? If so, it's something that should be easy for Ugoos to fix as bobby mentioned (match content colourspace with DV on).
Good news, both HDR10 and SDR modes are accurate in 12bits on the UGOOS. So this the best android device for HDR10/DV/SDR + lossless audio.

HDR10: https://slow.pics/c/n4HSSEyU
SDR: https://slow.pics/c/XGv9WNjm

Strange that SDR in 8bit 444 is not accurate because my HTPC and x700 are both accurate in 8bit or 12bit.

sounds like your TV only support LLDV (player-led)
on my old Vizio TV (doesn't support lldv):
-Dolby Vision enable
-dolby vision disable
-always on

on my LG OLED TV:
-Dolby Vision enable
-Dolby vision enable with low latency (YUV)
-dolby vision disable
-always on

It looks like the best options to contact Ugoos is support@ugoos.net, eugene@ugoos.net, and @UgoosLtd Twitter handle. I can certainly reach out, but what do we need to ask them to do technically? I think I have a grasp, but someone else should put words in my mouth to get the best result I think lol

Thanks for confirming. I’m pretty confident my Panasonic supports TV led DV so I’m not sure why it’s not detecting correctly. I’ve tried different cables directly connected to TV as well as through AV receiver.

Well, I don't know, tv-led works fine here on different 2 TVs.

At least with LLDV, you don't have to bother turning off DV for HDR10/SDR content like we have to do for TV-LED DV. I just checked LLDV on my LG TV and I'm getting 12bits in all modes.

True.. but I think TV led should be better for DV.

Anyone got a Ugoos or Minix connected to a Panasonic OLED who can check their Dolby Vision settings??

Great, thanks for the test. So basically the problem as I understand it is:

With TV-led Dolby Vision turned on, the output is currently forced to:
  • SDR: 8-bit YCbCr444
  • HDR10: 8-bit YCbCr444
  • DV: 8-bit RGB
With TV-led Dolby Vision turned on, the output needs to be changed to:
  • SDR: 12-bit YCbCr422
  • HDR10: 12-bit YCbCr422
  • DV: 8-bit RGB
We have confirmed (with Dolby Vision off) that 8-bit YCbCr444 gives the wrong colours for SDR and HDR10, and 12-bit YCbCr422 gives the correct colours for SDR and HDR10. TV-led DV output is 8-bit RGB (as it should be) and gives the correct colours.

I'm not even sure why when TV-led Dolby Vision is turned on, SDR and HDR10 are forced to 8-bit YCbCr444, since when DV is activated it switches to 8-bit RGB anyway. Force DV always on seems to be working as intended and outputs everything in 8-bit RGB.
