I've never heard of "run FindVUK in 'ValidateDisc' mode".

A little googling I found in need DVDfab, or there were other references about running command level prompts which I didn't really understand.

Do you have any easy instructions on how to do this?

I've submitting several dumps to you in the past and you never requested this?

Since I downloaded and the latest keydb file and was able to rip the disk, what does this additional info provide if the disk can now be successfully ripped?
The additional information provided to the keydb by FindVUK's ValidateDisc mode is strictly disc/title metadata. It doesn't require DVDFab or any other paid product as it is only validating the keys already stored in your local keydb file.

This disc validation step has never been an absolute requirement, so I haven't previously requested it. I only asked because you expressed an interest in creating a more detailed keydb entry.

Using FindVUK to validate a disc can turn a keydb entry like this:

Code: Select all

0x5ED28A6F2B5F7FA0389C48E6437F66C67D429773 = JURASSICPARK_UHD_UPK3 | D | 0000-00-00 | M | 0x<MK redacted> | I | 0x<VID redacted> | V | 0x<VUK redacted> | U | 1-0x<UK redacted> ; (UHD) (LEGACY) (NOTVALIDATED) (BD)
into a complete entry with volume size, date, MKB version info, titles from disc metadata etc :

Code: Select all

0x5ED28A6F2B5F7FA0389C48E6437F66C67D429773 = JURASSICPARK_UHD_UPK3 (Jurassic Park) | D | 2018-03-15 | M | 0x<MK redacted> | I | 0x<VID redacted> | V | 0x<VUK redacted> | U | 1-0x<UK redacted> ; MKBv61/BEE/FindVUK 1.77 - VolumeSize: 63161237504 (UHD)
As MrPenguin noted the KeyDB Helper tool written by SamuriHL should be useful if you'd like to validate disc entries: Link

Casper US 4K
...
Hey reignbo, you were lucky that another forum user with an LG drive posted a disc dump for the 988A variant of Casper. In the future please remember that disc dumps created with your drive cannot be used to create disc entries from scratch. But because LibreDrive doesn't obfuscate the volume ID (VID) read by your drive the disc dumps aren't entirely useless (unlike the BDR-UD04 and a few other Pioneer drives).

Hey mkvliker, thanks for the new disc dumps. Your three titles have been added to the public keydb.
Public KeyDB Disc Submissions
  • LG/Asus drives only (Pioneer drives are not supported)
  • Please use file hosts, not forum attachments
  • If your disc dump is under 3MB, you need to manually include the MKB_RO.inf file from the AACS folder
