keydb_helper:

I followed your link. That was the same webpage I originally downloaded the KEYDB.cfg file from. ENG version. I can tell the one I just downloaded according to your instructions is bigger by 4Kbs than the one I downloaded a couple of days ago. I wish there were a better way to tell one version from another.
Though I cannot use this new key right now because I am not at my house, I am sure that it will work and that you have solved this issue. Many thanks for your patience and diligent action. We all benefit.

Thank you dcoke22, SamuriHL and Dodecadaemon (what an awesome username!) for the replies you gave in short order to my original post. Clearly, this is great community to be a part of. May it stay so.
You are too kind StrangeAeons (a pretty awesome username too IMO). I can confirm that the latest keydb file does work for the C6A0 variant. Thank you keydb_helper!

The best way to keep your copy of KEYDB.cfg up-to-date is by using the FindVUK.exe tool. Specifically:

Code: Select all

findvuk synchronize
This is a Windows executable, although it does also work using wineconsole.

You really don't want to be downloading the entire KEYDB each time, even in ZIP format.

Mr. Penguin, Dodecadaemon, keydb_helper, many thanks. Wallace and Gromit being .mkved as we speak.

Mr. Penguin, I downloaded the .exe you were kind enough to link me. I will be using it from now on to further feed the Database. I am reading every page of the thread. It embarrasses me that I was hitherto unaware of the efforts by nalor, starbuck2010 and others to ensure we can keep decrypting discs and watching our own media the way we want to after purchasing it with our own money. I have done my part in other endeavours online, just not on this one at all. I am keenly conscious of how much we all stand on the shoulders of giants (as the giants also do themselves) to make things work for others. But this is... Awe inspiring. SO MUCH depends on that database being kept viable!
Everyone in this forum has been the essence of polite and helpful. Keydb_helper, truly thank you for your instant responses and action. I can only imagine how much time of your day is taken by doing this for others. Thank you indeed.

I am now glad that I could not rip that silly (though beautiful) disc originally, or I would never have made an account here nor learned so much. More remains. Please let me know if I can be of service. I will be proud to assist this community.

Thank you all again. If a selfless desire to help ruled every design, it would be a much happier world.
