Any setting to do in MakeMKV to prevent this truncation in the future ?

Unfortunately not . I think MakeMKV does this when it realizes that it already knows the disk's Media Key, and so doesn't need to calculate it again. Which is fine for MakeMKV precisely because it makes the TGZ dump files so much smaller. It's just that it makes them much less useful for KEYDB too.
