Have you tried copying the latest KEYDB.cfg file into MakeMKV's data directory (i.e. where MakeMKV also writes its TGZ dump files) and restarting MakeMKV?

I have the UHD Extended Cut (FALLGUY_UPK50) of Fall Guy and the Verbatim 43888 (LG BU40N inside) but I can't get the main playlist off the disc. I have the most recent keydb.cfg which fixed the decryption errors and enabled me to get all the short stuff off. But for the main playlist it eventually shows a hash error, around 26GB in.
I saw someone who had the same issue with the same drive fix it by getting a different USB-C cable. Is that something worth trying? Unfortunately, I don't know the specs of the cables I have lying around.

The drive itself is pretty new, I only got it in February and it had no problems with the UHD Oppenheimer.

Has anyone had a similar issue with the Verbatim 43888/LG BU40N and managed to fix it?

A hash check error generally means the drive is having trouble reading a spot on the disc. The disc might be dirty, even if it is brand new and just out of the package. A gentle cleaning is often helpful. Sometimes a drive might need more power than it is currently getting. This is sometimes a problem with portable, USB powered drives like your BU40N.
