Your dump is useless as you have not flashed your drive to enable libredrive. This is a requirement for reading UHD discs.
Cheers :D

Thanks to everyone who followed the template and provided new disc dump files. The following UHD discs have been added to the public keydb (new media keys are indicated with an asterisk):

Code: Select all

*MKB20_v76_Do_the_Right_Thing_162B
*MKB20_v77_1984_5A02
*MKB20_v82_ReturnToSilentHill_1A0A
*MKB20_v82_THE_GENERAL_UHD_45E8

Good eye. In addition to LibreDrive not being enabled, the link isn't even publicly accessible. So it was a remarkably long post with no useful details that ended with an invalid link to a useless file.

Hey acforrester, please read the first post of this thread and don't include all of those unnecessary details. The submission template is very clear and the requirement for publicly accessible download links isn't optional.

Remember, if you can't access your link in private browsing/incognito mode you shouldn't post it to this thread

Thanks, but KEYDB already contains this disk. Just download the latest KEYDB.cfg file, copy it into MakeMKV's data directory (i.e. where MakeMKV also writes its TGZ dump files) and restart MakeMKV.

This disk already has a fully validated entry in the latest KEYDB.cg file. The reason MakeMKV failed to decrypt it is likely because it failed to enable LibreDrive.

The KEYDB.cfg file already contains your disk, except its "Disc ID" is actually 0xD18F736EA922461CD8E9BD7420B4DB048FF38A48.

Perhaps you're not using the KEYDB.cfg file at all, because your log.txt file contains this line:

Code: Select all

003339:0000 Automatic HK downloading is disabled or failed.
To install the KEYDB.cfg for MakeMKV to use, you need to copy it into MakeMKV's data directory (i.e. the same directory where MakeMKV writes its TGZ dump files) and then restart MakeMKV.

This is interesting, getting an error "This disc uses newer version of AACS protection. Please let us know about it by visiting http://www.makemkv.com...", which I've never seen before. I thought standard bluray had been well and truly cracked, but I guess they still have some obnoxious tricks up their sleeves. I did click the submit link, and also emailed the dumps as usual.

Blurays use 128 bit AACS encryption, and so cannot be "well and truly cracked" in the sense that DVDs have been. You can "brute-force" a DVD's keys in seconds even on a standard PC, whereas AACS cannot even be brute-forced using a quantum computing cluster! Any success in decrypting standard Blurays is due to Friendly Elves managing to obtain and publicly release both AACS device keys and AACS host certificates faster than AACS-LA can revoke them.

With the arrival of MKBv82, the last publicly known host certificate for standard Blurays has now been revoked, and no replacement has been published. But this shouldn't be any problem now so long as your drive supports LibreDrive. And as for device keys, MakeMKV now seems to be handling them the same as UHDs by generating dump files for unknown disks.
