Have you tried downloading the latest KEYDB.cfg file, copying it into MakeMKV's data directory (i.e. where MakeMKV also writes its TGZ dump files) and restarting MakeMKV?

Do you also have access to a LG/ASUS/Buffalo UHD drive please? This BDR-UD04 drive means that some of the disk's metadata inside the TGZ dump file is unreadable.

Hey bwcgrx, thank you for following the submission template. Unfortunately, your Pioneer BDR-UD04 disc drive is particularly problematic for the purposes of the keydb...

But that is no longer the case. As long as your drive is supported by LibreDrive, all disc dump files are now suitable for public keydb processing.

This applies to all disc dump files, of all disc types, from all relevant drive manufacturers. Pioneer drives are now supported to the exact same extent as LG, Asus, and Buffalo drives for both AACS 1.0 and AACS 2.0.

The latest KEYDB.cfg file already contains this disk, which is lucky because a TGZ dump file needs to be created directly from the UHD disk.

Also, you would need to use MakeMKV's "disk backup" functionality to copy a UHD to your hard drive, as otherwise your disk copy will be bus encrypted by your UHD drive.

Then why do I receive an error whenever I try to open the file, either with makemkv or directly with the MPC-HC player? For the player, I have the keydb file saved in AppData\Roaming\AACS.

Your dump on your HDD is useless without also knowing the RDK used to encrypt it, and we have no way of knowing your RDK.

You need to go back to your UHD so that MakeMKV can create a new HDD copy without bus encryption.
