Re: Public KeyDB Disc Submissions
Sorry, but there is no need for me to double check. I only post here after titles are added to the public keydb. If you open up your downloaded keydb.cfg file in a text editor you should be able to find a line like this:
Code: Select all
0xE77E4797D5E234B5AAE62C1E7E170CBF33D0EA0E = 28 Years Later (28 Years Later - Blu-ray™) ... <Keys redacted for the forum>
If it doesn't work, it means you have either:
1. Put the keydb file in the wrong folder. Make sure you put the unzipped keydb file in the same directory where you originally found your MKB_v82_28_Years_Later_E8D2.tgz disc dump file.
2. The file is not named correctly. macOS/Linux systems can treat files in a case sensitive manner. You've already tried 'keydb.cfg', so I think the other two possibilities are either: 'KEYDB.CFG' or 'KEYDB.cfg'
If you still can't get it working after confirming the correct folder and renaming the keydb.cfg file, please make a new forum thread.

Fuck off hfmets. Don't waste my time by submitting titles which are already supported by the public keydb.
Public KeyDB Disc Submissions

- Please use file hosts, not forum attachments
- If your disc dump is under 3MB, you need to manually include the MKB_RO.inf file from the AACS folder

Sorry, I forgot the MKB_RO files for the New Order discs. Zipped for each disc attached.
Please let me know if I need to resubmit altogether!

I've just correctly seen to the keydb stage. The disc might now be working, if it does I'll delete this post.
I can't delete the post anymore but the discs ripped fine now, though with AV sync errors I've never seen before.
Respectfully, it's all very well saying how easy this is (and once you've been fully through it once and got it working, it is) but it isn't intuitive at all for first timers who've ripped hundreds of discs who suddenly get these issues, and makemkv itself only advises you to click a link about the AACS version and nothing else. I had to trawl around to find this thread, then look at other linked threads, then I found my data directory wasn't the default so it wasn't picking up the keydb file despite the default directory still containing a _private_data.tar file, then found a weird issue with my drive I had to power cycle to correct I've never seen before which timed exactly to the launch of makemkv where it first successfully picked up the keydb file. Both these issues just made it look like I'd done things properly but that the disc was still unsupported.
I just thought I'd have a go to be helpful to the community and get my issue on the radar. I put no in for that sync check at first and changed it once I'd sussed it out. I checked the contents of that keydb file and it didn't look like my disc was listed in it, it just had a different naming convention to earlier seasons & I had to search my specific disc name, which makes sense in retrospect as disc authoring is never predictable so that's totally on me. I've also for the first time in the years I've used it as a paying customer, been advised by makemkv to install java to get the rip to work properly. So there's more oddities & silly mistakes contributing to the confusion.
Regardless things seem fine for this disc now. Thanks keydb_helper for all of this as it did ultimately get my rip completed. It does work and is simple when you get your head round it. There's quite a few random pitfalls for newcomers though & shit like this directed to an account with 1 post does the community no good whatsoever:
"Fuck off hfmets. Don't waste my time by submitting titles which are already supported by the public keydb."
I appreciate it's frustrating dealing with new users when you feel your write-up is perfect, but that's just part of the process unfortunately, especially for off-path processes like this.
If an admin can delete this post please do so. I won't be back.

Re: Public KeyDB Disc Submissions
Thanks to everyone for trying to follow the submission template.
I don't know why, but I'm seeing an awful of people including this line in their posts when they apparently haven't grabbed the latest keydb for several weeks (if ever):
These four titles have all been supported for several days or weeks:

It would really be appreciated if you all could actually grab the latest keydb and try it out before posting to this thread.mediumwave wrote: ↑Wed Dec 10, 2025 8:57 amDid you sync the public keydb within the last 15 minutes? yes

It doesn't take long to sync the keydb, it is absolutely free, and it can avoid unnecessary posts.mediumwave wrote: ↑Wed Dec 10, 2025 8:57 amDisc dump filename/s: MKB_v82_BROTHERHOOD_F556.tgz; MKB_v82_MOVEMENT_8BDE.tgz; MKB_v82_LOWLIFE_9DDC.tgz

Re: Public KeyDB Disc Submissions
I’m trying to submit a couple, but how do you get the disc dump links? I have the disc pulled up in MakeMKV but see nowhere to access that so I can post it on here.
