Here's the AACS Dump File for the Conjuring 4 Last Rights 4k
KEYDB already contains this disk. Have you also emailed this dump to svq@makemkv.com?

Thanks to everyone who provided suitable disc dump files. I believe all submitted discs have been added to the public keydb. The following UHD disc submissions corresponded to new media keys:

Code: Select all

MKB20_v77_THE_EMPERORS_NEW_GROOVE_571C
MKB20_v82_DOGMA_UHD_1B6E
MKB20_v82_GOOD_FORTUNE_8610
MKB20_v82_I_KNOW_WHERE_IM_GOING_812A
MKB20_v82_SALAM_BOMBAY_UHD_D204
MKB20_v82_The_New_Avengers_-_S1_D1_1780
MKB20_v82_WrongTurn2-UNCUT-UHD_6778
Public KeyDB Disc Submissions
  • LG/Buffalo/Asus drives only (Pioneer drives are not supported)
  • Please use file hosts, not forum attachments
  • If your disc dump is under 3MB, you need to manually include the MKB_RO.inf file from the AACS folder

I tried using MakeMKV and also configured it to use latest keydb but it didn't work. I assume key for this specific release is not added.
Thank you so much for your wonderful help!

Disc dump link: https://filebin.net/0xstgcn325xi9w0h (Link has both .inf and dump file)

Getting "Can't read AACS VID from disc - most likely current AACS host certificate is revoked by your drive" error on this disk so I guess key is not added for this disk. I tried using latest keydb.cfg with MakeMKV but still getting same error. Thank you so much!

Hey Darth, thanks for following the submission template and providing those disc dump files. Your particular variant of Lord of War is already supported by the public keydb. If you haven't already, it might be worth renaming your 'keydb.cfg' file to 'KEYDB.cfg' as macOS can utilise case sensitive filesystems.

With regards to Saving Private Ryan and its MKB_RO.inf file, you'll need to copy the several megabyte MKB_RO.inf file from the AACS folder on your disc and upload that to a file host. The 56 byte truncated file is available from the disc dump itself and it isn't really helpful for the purposes of the keydb.

Unfortunately the disc dump file will need to be recreated as the "Can't read AACS VID from disc..." error indicates that LibreDrive was not successfully activated. This means the resultant disc dump files won't contain the volume ID (VID) of your disc and this is required to derive the disc keys. This transient LibreDrive issue may have contributed to your Lord of War troubles.

I'd recommend:
1. Unplug your drive so that it is completely powered down
2. Restart your computer and do not open MakeMKV yet
3. Plug the drive back into your computer
4. Put Saving Private Ryan into your drive and browse the disc contents in Finder to obtain the MKB_RO.inf file from the AACS folder
5. Copy the MKB_RO.inf file to a folder on your computer
6. Open up MakeMKV and have it generate a new disc dump

The main idea is to avoid potential issues by having MakeMKV try to enable LibreDrive before the drive has completely finished its initialisation process

Ah I see.
I just tried to follow the steps you mentioned but it looks like "Saving the private ryan" is now ripping as expected! :o
I also emailed dump to svq@makemkv.com around the same I posted it here. Were they fast enough to add it to MakeMKV private key store.
Anyway I was able to get actual MKB_RO.inf file(134 MB) but I couldn't generate dump again since it's now ripping fine.
You can find the file here: https://filebin.net/0eovah7f0umsfi3k

Regarding "Lord of War", you're right, I could find SHA1 of the Unit_Key_RO.inf in latest keydb file. I wonder why do I still get the same error.
I have also renamed keydb.cfg to KEYDB.cfg but it still failed with same error as before.
Here is everything I did,
- Restarted Mac pro, used a separate Mac air
- Reinstalled MakeMKV(including wiping /Users/xxxxxx/Library/MakeMKV/)
- Power cycled drive
- Make sure not Internet access is enabled in MakeMKV settings and also made sure not seeing not able to connect internet kind of errors.

Anyway, I really appreciate helping us and maintaining the key file. You're amazing.

No, I believe MakeMKV would've already supported your title for some time as your disc dump file was properly unusable.

Thanks for providing the MKB_RO.inf file. If you get a chance, feel free to start making a protected backup of your disc and grab the discatt.dat file as soon as it is created (and not empty). You can then cancel the backup, upload the discatt.dat file and post a link if you'd like to see a complete keydb entry for your disc.

It sounds like you've done everything I'd expect... Just in case something quirky is happening with the file naming, could you please post the output of this terminal command:

Code: Select all

ls -al ~/Library/MakeMKV/
You could also try renaming the file to 'KEYDB.CFG' - it feels wrong but I can't recall the alternative form for case sensitive filesystems.

Hey psbcyan, thanks for the submission. Both of your discs have been added to the public keydb. I generally will complain about invalid submissions directly, so don't stress about potentially being ignored. The difference with your titles was that they used media keys which were already known to the public keydb, so I didn't call them out in my earlier post. If I included all newly supported discs in those update posts I'd still be posting about each new Oppenheimer or Jurassic Park variant...

Sure. More than happy to contribute in anyway I can. Just started a decrypted backup and I can see the file, it's 4KB. I have copied it here, hope that's the correct one.

Hello,

MakeMKV was unable to process this UHD Blu-ray.
It looks like the volume key / hash is not yet in the database.

Disc title: NEW AVENGERS S1 D2 UHD
Region: UHD (region-free)
MakeMKV version: 1.18.2
Drive: HL-DT-ST BD-RE BU40N USB Device

Symptoms:
- Cannot decrypt disc
- Missing key/hash
- Using latest MakeMKV version

The SDF dump (.tgz) generated by MakeMKV is attached.

Thank you for adding support!
