I did the same but I got weird error messages said that:
Error 'Scsi error - ILLEGAL REQUEST:COPY PROTECTION KEY EXCHANGE FAILURE - KEY NOT ESTABLISHED' occurred while issuing SCSI command AD010..080002400 to device 'SG:dev_21:9'
Error 'Scsi error - ILLEGAL REQUEST:COPY PROTECTION KEY EXCHANGE FAILURE - KEY NOT PRESENT' occurred while issuing SCSI command A30..0020..03F to device 'SG:dev_21:9'
I use LG BP60NB10 drive. I had never seen that error messages before. I tried different disc (different movie) and it worked fine.
Any solutions?
Thanks,
Tim

It looks like your drive hasn't enabled LibreDrive. What does MakeMKV's info window say?Sword7 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 18, 2025 5:03 pmI did the same but I got weird error messages said that:

I tried that again but got same errors. I checked drive info. It said that LivreDrive is enabled. It does not make sense.

Re: Marvel - Fantastic Four - First Steps - protection key errors
All I can suggest is that you power-cycle your drive and try again. Perhaps wait until your OS has recognized the disk before launching MakeMKV, in case there's a race here somewhere.
Re: Marvel - Fantastic Four - First Steps - protection key errors
Yes, it finally worked now. I just turned it off then turned back on.
I found out that my drive crashed during loading disc, and it automatically restarted but did not execute LibreDrive routines.
Thanks for your replies.
