Have you tried downloading the latest KEYDB.cfg file, copying it into MakeMKV's data directory (i.e. where MakeMKV also writes its TGZ dump files) and restarting MakeMKV?

If this doesn't work, could you also upload your TGZ dump file into (say) OneDrive or Google Drive please, and reply with a public download link? This would allow people to try adding your disk to the public KEYDB.cfg file too.

I'd like to submit a dump for The Hidden Fortress BFI BluRay, but unfortunately I have a Pioneer player, so I can't upload my tgz file. I'm replying here in order to have any updates on this dump. I downloaded the latest version (as of September 22nd, 2025) of KeyDB and checked that there's the key for the 4K version, not the regular BluRay though. Thanks in advance for any news or help!

To be fair, could you make your dump available anyway please? Being a Pioneer dump, there's no guarantee that The Powers That KEYDB would be able to derive your key from it, but we could still learn something about your disk. So maybe upload your TGZ dump file into (say) OneDrive or Google Drive please, and then reply with a public download link?

And obviously email your TGZ dump file to svq@makemkv.com too, of course .

Sure, no problem, will do that in the appropriate link. The most curious thing is that MakeMKV and VLC say that the name of the disc is Sanjuro - and I already own it and have had no problems reading that!
