Zombieland 4K UHD AACS 2.1
Re: Zombieland 4K UHD AACS 2.1
So judging by the length of time it's been since this particular disc has been unable to be ripped I'm guessing I'll have to go back to the old way of dropping this in my UHD player when I want to watch it lol. I'd love to have it on my NAS but I see no point in buying another copy just to be able to watch it occasionally. Thankfully it's the only disc I own that's like that.

Out of interest, what is the full filename of your TGZ dump file please? (I am assuming you have one...?)cbnbmore wrote: ↑Sun Jan 26, 2025 8:03 pmSo judging by the length of time it's been since this particular disc has been unable to be ripped I'm guessing I'll have to go back to the old way of dropping this in my UHD player when I want to watch it lol. It's an older disc but I looked and noticed the 1C8C was one of the problem discs.

Not that I'm complaining, but there don't seem to be enough disks using AACSv2.1 yet in circulation for Mike to activate his new method.

Just ran across this thread since my Steelbook Zombieland copy won't decrypt. Same CC8A file as others have reported. Kinda' unexpected since the Zombieland Double Tap Steelbook 4K UHD rips just fine. I'll have to add this one to my gradually growing collection of 4K UHD disks that won't rip, mostly due to errors.

Re: Zombieland 4K UHD AACS 2.1
I have a non-steelbook version and it wouldn't read on 1.18.2 with a moderately recent cfg. I tried, and it generated a 1C8C.tgz file. I then ran a KeyDB helper Synchronize (which worked) and a Validate (which failed), and then tried again. This time, a 1C8D.tgz file was generated.
Curious.

Not curious at all. It's AACS 2.1 protected which means the KeyDB will do nothing for you.

Re: Zombieland 4K UHD AACS 2.1
Sorry to dig this up after such a long time, but I just found a Steelbook copy of Zombieland 4K, and I got the "Failed to open disc" error. When I searched the forums, I found this thread and it sounds like the AACS 2.1 discs are problematic. I was curious if the dumpfile would be helpful at all? If it would be helpful, do I email it to svq@makemkv.com? Or is there a more preferred method?
I found this Public KeyDB Disc Submission post and it mentioned: "Emailing disc dump files to the MakeMKV team is still recommended to assist with native title support."

Re: Zombieland 4K UHD AACS 2.1
For now, nothing can/is being done with AACS 2.1 titles. There are a few versions (4 character code at the end of dump file name) that are supported by MakeMKV but has been noted by Mike that support for other versions won't be added, at least not any time soon. KeyDB won't help with AACS 2.1 titles.rippinofftheedge wrote: ↑Fri Mar 13, 2026 7:39 pmSorry to dig this up after such a long time, but I just found a Steelbook copy of Zombieland 4K, and I got the "Failed to open disc" error.
