War of the Rohirrim - JAPANESE UHD

Hi all,

I finally got my hands on the japanese Rohirrim disc with Japanese audio. However, my Panasonic UHD player will hide all japanese audio & subs.
I managed to rip the bluray with the japanese audio, but I desperately want to rip the UHD, having paid for the disc pretty handsomely.

MakeMKV returns a fatal error after trying a couple times.

My keys are up to date, this one doesn't work yet. I hope I'm doing this right. Let me know if not. Thanks in advance.

I would guess that your UHD drive has not enabled LibreDrive:

Hopefully, there is suitable firmware for your drive:

Your TGZ dump file contains almost no useful information without LibreDrive .

Could you zip-compress the AACS/MKB_RO.inf file from your physical UHD disk please, and then post it here? The copy of this file inside your TGZ dump file has been truncated to only 56 bytes, making it unusable. This is also about the only extra information that you can provide about this disk without first enabling LibreDrive.

muchas gracias for your reply! I was able to follow a guide to flash my drive to use LibreDrive and here's a new tgz dump along with the requested MKB_RO.inf file zipped up separately. Seems the size of the tgz is about the same as the first one, let me know if it's not useful please.
It ultimately fails to open the Japanese disc, of course.

Pretty ecstatic I was able to dump the 5.1 Japanese audio yesterday from the BD, seems i'm probably the only one who cares about this release.

Can you delete that dump file now that you've flashed your drive, let MakeMKV recreate it, and upload a new copy please? It's the only way to help.

Your new firmware doesn't appear to be LibreDrive-compatible either:

Where did you get this new firmware from please? I would expect the UHD FAQ to explain this. (I bought my own BU40N pre-flashed, and so have never done this myself.)

I missed that it wasn't LibreDrive enabled still. Without that, no dump will work, even sending it to the svq email address won't produce any results. A media key for this title does exist but without the other data it can't be used.

I did follow that guide and successfully flashed Archgon MD-8107-U3 (BU40N) with HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_BU40N-1.04-NM00500-212005061142.bin.
It succeeded without error. I was then able to rip the US/international steelbook 4k and combine it with the japanese 5.1 audio i had ripped earlier off the BD (which by the way is in my humble opinion the definitive version of the film).

MakeMKV appears to say LibreDrive is enabled. Did I install the wrong firmware?
