Why isn't there a new beta-key?
AFAIK the only person who can do this is Mike. Patience is your only option....

The one provided is only valid until 2024-04-30
FAQ about BETA and PERMANENT keys

A key bit of info, often overlooked:
But I have to rip this disk NOW, and the beta key is expired! MakeMKV checks the key for expiration by comparing your system DATE when the program STARTS. It does NOT check it after that. What you do with that information is up to you.

That has been making me crazy till now. I thought it was something I had done, or not done.
The Date thing must have some other criteria. On my linux system I did some manipulation and it still came up as expired.
So if their is some other info like the date of the bios vs the OS date I would appreciate it.

The key in the current download has already expired, so downloading it again would gain nothing.

Howto:
  • Turn back your system time for one month so you're back in April
  • Make sure you've got the newest version of MakeMKV and start it
  • Go to Help > Register and paste the April beta key (regardless if you've done this before)
  • Close MakeMKV and restart it
  • Start ripping - should work fine now
  • Set your system time back to normal

I guess still no news on the new beta-key? I already have the latest version of MakeMKV for macOS and I now cannot use it without a new key for May 2024.

Setting date back a month (to April) prior to starting MakeMKV doesn't work on MacOS? Works fine in Win 10 (LTSC).
Windows:
Identifying The Correct Title To Rip: Process Monitor Method - GetMPLS Method
Mux/Remux: Set A Subtitle Stream On By Default (Forced)

Just FYI. Changing the system date on Windows will not restore Blu-Ray functionality. DVD - Okay. Blu-Ray - No joy!

Trouble with pre-dating your computer (rolling back the clock) is that lots of other OS software (Windows, Unix, Mac all) require timechecks on a regular basis; don't be surprised if other apps are dysfunctional till reset. BETTER: Do a full Uninstall, then a fresh install, and you'll be back in the "trial month" mode. Gotta extract it fully, or it maintains your old serial number as a matter of course.

That depends on when you "installed" the key last, relative to when you "started" to do BDs.

If you set the date back to when the key is good, then install the key, it will reset the 30-day timer on BDs. The 30-day limit on doing BDs needs to be reset every, well, 30 days.

This worked for me.
But only on my 12 year old laptop with win7 and no internet
connection.
Tried the same thing on my win11 laptop but couldnt get it to work.

What did you set the date to? I just tried this on my Win11 desktop (internet connected)... removed my perm key, set date back to April 10 (after disabling 'Set time automatically') & applied the last beta key. Worked just fine, reporting a time-limited key.

"valid until end of April 2024" is rarely literal/precise.
