Re: Trouble flashing drive
Alright, I think I've figured it out: the linux edition of MakeMKV constantly does license checks while reading the disk (Instead of once upon program launch) Using timedatectl, turn off ntp, set time back to 2025-07-07, launch the program, disks rip (both on fw v1.0 and v1.03MK). Set ntp back on, a...

Re: Trouble flashing drive
I flashed DE_LG_BU40N_1.00.bin with the GUI flasher on windows Symptoms very similar to this post , it seems to take longer to get up to 6.0X while ripping under windows. However, linux rips never work, always end with 'volume key is unknown'. The drive's eject button does seem to be working now. He...

Re: Trouble flashing drive
Ok, so Ive made some amounts of progress, maybe. I started with just trying windows, and got the same invalid offset errors. Assumed hardware failure, and bought a new drive (also bu40n). I tried the windows GUI firmware flasher instead of linux/makemkv1.17.6 and now both drives rip disks under wind...

Re: Trouble flashing drive
Bummer, I tried cleaning the lens and the disks, but that didnt seem to have an effect. I also bought some new blurays, and get the same messages.
The estimated time remaining just keeps increasing in the GUI, lol
Is it safe to assume the drive is just defective then?

Re: Trouble flashing drive
Im now using 1.17.6. I think I've flashed the drive properly, but I cant do any rips. I dumped the firmware before starting, and I dont think my drive was encrypted, the firmware is dump_user_HL-DT-ST_BD-RE_BU40N_FR07_211801221536_808HS003853.tar, and didnt appear on the list mike@usdt:~$ sdftool -f...

Trouble flashing drive
Hello, I am trying to use makemkv with a LG BU40N I have installed makemkv on fedora linux, and all appears well. The trial key is currently outdated, and the order page is dead, so Im using faketime to get around the registration check. I've added my user to cdrom, and am using waypipe as the media...
