Re: Error 'Scsi error - ILLEGAL REQUEST:READ OF SCRAMBLED SECTOR WITHOUT AUTHENTICATION' occurred
Tried it on another DVD drive (a Liteon drive) as opposed to my trusty bluray drive and got the same scsi error.

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2024
Hi, I have an LG BH16NS40 firmware ver 1.03 would like to flash to allow UHD compatibility but confused on a couple things. Firstly its enclosed in a NST-536S3-BK and read that there are compatibility issues with this enclosure if the firmware of the enclosure is jmicron chipset pcb version 1V00D F0...

Re: LibreDrive for Pioneer drives
Got another crazy idea for attempting a roll back. For this need 2nd drive with old firmware. Connect to pc via usb adapter and run installer where it will verify drive firmware version, put computer to sleep and swap drives and when machine wakes up attempt flash. Probably wont work but worth a try...

Re: LibreDrive for Pioneer drives
What about using a usb firmware flasher. There must be a rom chip you can clamp.

Re: LibreDrive for Pioneer drives
Hi,
Sorry to ask again but was just wondering considering the firmware is encrypted is it possible to edit the binary of an older firmware and change the version info on it to fool the updater that its a newer firmware?
Thanks

Re: LibreDrive for Pioneer drives
Ok. Sad. This doesn't mean that the drive will not work with MakeMkv ... just that Make will have to bypass Libredrive mode through indirect access and there is the risk that some discs will read and others will not because now the firmware can restrict access if I read the technical information cor...

Re: LibreDrive for Pioneer drives
Been reading up and probably have more reading to do. Found something interesting on Doom9 forum. There was a 20 year old thread regarding rolling back old Pioneer DVD drives by simply attaching a '/F' parameter to the flashing program. Found inside the main flash executable two smaller executables ...

Re: LibreDrive for Pioneer drives
Would it be possible to slip the binary firmware file for an older version into the executable updater program to fool it into thinking its flashing a newer firmware and instead downgrade it or is it just not possible due to a hard lock on the firmware itself? As it is right now I should be able to ...

Re: LibreDrive for Pioneer drives
Hi guys, I have the Pioneer 209 EBK (209-M) and the current firmware is only 1.34/ID60. It is probably perfect for MakeMKV but I would like to upgrade the drive since it will be used as a burner as well. Is that 1.54 firmware still safe for MakeMKV? (I guess it might be since that firmware should b...

Re: LibreDrive for Pioneer drives
That stinks. Don't own any UHD blurays anyhow. Makemkv still worked though. No way to roll back? Thanks
