Scored a cheap Libredrive capable Pioneer drive on Amazon

Post by drknight71 »

Wanted a new BDR-211M drive to replace my old BDR-211M that I had accidentally flashed to latest rom version loosing Libredrive and UHD support.
So I found these guys on Amazon that call themselves the 'Produplicators' that were selling used BDR-211M Pioneer drives and decided to take a chance
and order one to see it was a pre-2022 firmware release drive which it very much was!

Here is the link on Amazon if anyone is interested:

According to Amazon they only have one left in stock. The drive looks well maintained for used as there are
no scratches or defects or smudges at all. Looks nearly new.

Also bought a new BDR-2213 from Billy. Maybe I should have waited but its good to have extra I suppose.
Anyhow thanks Billy..

But I wonder if its possible though or worthwhile to patch the firmware or leave it as its ver 1.02.

Going to start buying some UHD movies now and see which one works better.

Just wanted to confirm for anyone else eyeing this drive that it does seem to be ripping an UHD bluray at 4X taking 1.5 hours though but without needing firmware modification or anything of the 1.02 ver rom that it came with. Cool.

Not bad for used.
