Re: confusing 3D-Bluray standard ripping options?
and makemkv proposes to rip all 5 of them, however if i "enlarge" one title by clicking upon it, it proposes (so it seems) to rip only the Audio section, and Video is not checkmarked; This is not correct. The video part is always ripped. you just cannot see or remove the checkmark for it....

Re: Libredrive Support & Compatibility - Issues and Successes.
I'm currently using an ASUS BW-16D1HT with the patched firmware and having some trouble with a few UHD discs I have the same drive and recently several Triple Layer UHDs aren't recognized from the drive. So this happens. Some say, crossflashing can help. For me it didn't with all discs. So I bought...

Re: Pioneer firmware update February 2023
This is probably the reason, why only now Pioneers can be patched. If this would have been done earlier, Pioneer might have programmed additional protections into the firmware. Now they can't do that anymore.

Re: Feature request: additional tokens for default selection rules
... unselect non-MVC video tracks when a MVC track is available Why would you do that? You need the Normal video track and the MVC track for being able to have a 3D file afterwards. Both parts have different angles of the video for the 3D effect to work. If you just rip one, then you don't have 3D ...

Re: MKV Files and HDR
I don't know for sure, but maybe VLC automatically issues some tonemapping if it finds a HDR source with a non-HDR display.

Re: Blu-ray rip convert into iso (imgburn)
The main movie is cut into many small pieces. where is that a problem if you just let MakeMKV make a single MKV file out of them? Actually you can do so with just any video on the disc, then you wouldn't need the menus anymore. Yes, it's work to do, once. But then you have files like Sonic the Hedg...

Re: Blu-ray rip convert into iso (imgburn)
But, Imgburn program converts the ripped files and folders directly as a iso file again, and you can play it in VLC. You can play the folder with VLC as well, so why make it into an ISO? Just go to Open Media -> Disc -> Blu-ray and there you enter the path to the directory, where the BDMV directory...

Re: WTF is this
Animated movies usually compress rather well, so even with 3840x2160 pixels it could very well be this size.

Re: How can I play a backup better?
If you still have the AACS directory, then it is an encrypted backup I assume? Anyway, when I want to play a BluRay/UHD backup with VLC, I press Ctrl+D for the Open Device window, go to Disc, select BluRay and the browse to the folder, where the BDMV directory is inside (aka what would be the root d...

I always find it weird seeing new topics getting several thousands of reads during a single day. That's definitely not normal in my opinion.

Re: DVD image full disc backup always fails with weird debug code.
It is because - I think - MakeMKV notices, that the image is still encrypted despite not having a CSS code, and then brute forces the needed CSS key to still decrypt the files. Even DVDfab wasn't recognizing that. I am not sure, if MakeMKV will do the same, if you mount the ISO in your virtual drive...

Re: Asus BW-16D1HT not reading some Transformers UHDs
I flashed the firmware and even without rebooting the PC MakeMKV was able to recognize the disc!
DVDfab now tells me, my drive is unsupported though. Well, I'll see what I will do about that, when I need it.
Thanks alot!

Re: Asus BW-16D1HT not reading some Transformers UHDs
I tried it with water+soap and afterwards with a disc cleaning spray and each time dried it carefully. I haven't crossflashed the Asus yet. Would it be made like this? https://pictures.silentstrider.net/upload/2025/03/31/20250331184315-1265f770.png (https://pictures.silentstrider.net/upload/2025/03/...

Asus BW-16D1HT not reading some Transformers UHDs
Hey everyone, I think I know the answer already, but I want to make sure. I got myself the Transformers UHD Collection with all seven movies. But some of them are not recognized in my drive. It tries loading the disc (without MakeMKV or any other reader opened) and tries and tries... and then says, ...

Re: Bluray disk with PS3 folders
Not if you don't have a Playstation 3. These files are firmware update files for the Playstation 3 software, most likely to update new AACS revisions into the Playstations hardware.
