Re: Ripping tv series episodes in the right order
I've ripped hundreds of TV boxed sets and I've rarely seen them with the playlist in any particular order. Worse, I've seen ones where most will be ordered and one oddball isn't. But I've never had an issue. I simply play them in PowerDVD and use Process Monitor to see what mpls it opens (the tool c...

Re: HDD bad sectors causing visual artefacts on playback
Here is what I do (maybe it's overkill): · All rips are double backed up to external HDDs. · Each ripped disc had its own set of PAR2 recovery files. · Each backup drive has a hash file for the entire HDD. It is created/updated/verified by a tool I wrote for this purpose. It can generate multiple ha...

Re: Here we go again....
I've considered a purchase, but after the gross competence I've seen in completing sales, and the quite regular occurrence of one being unable to adhere to deadlines they set themselves, it really doesn't instill me with any confidence in the long term future for the product. I think you mean "...

Re: NTSC Bluray from US in the UK
I'm sure there are guides out there, but I just learned by doing. Typically, I use Process Explorer (free from Microsoft) to determine what the mpls for each episode is. I filter on the player's exe and mpls files and play each episode. I've only ever seen this method fail with those horrid Lionsgat...

Re: NTSC Bluray from US in the UK
I buy Blu-rays from many different countries and never had an issue. I once bought the UK and US version of a movie. The discs were bit-for-bit identical.

Blu-rays do not use NTSC or PAL.

There aren't any. MakeMKV isn't a transcoder.

Re: Warped Blu-ray plastic
They've not started sending me a replacement until my item is dropped off at the shipping location. So what you propose is, for me, impossible. Why is unclear. That said, that would be the superior way to solve the problem. Well that sucks. I've never heard of that. Getting a replacement and sendin...

Re: Warped Blu-ray plastic
There is what I do when I get a big boxed set from Amazon that has a bad disc. I order a replacement and when it arrives, I swap out the bad discs for the new ones, re-scan them, and send the bad set back. You have a month to return an item. Take advantage of it. I'll even swap the box or cases if t...

Re: Reliable Way to Determine "Episode Order" for TV Series Blu Ray Discs
I have the region 1 releases for all seven seasons. All episodes are in order of MPLS.

Re: Difference between index.bdmv and MovieObject.bdmv?
Yeah, I believe the order is volatile and the titles appear in the order MakeMKV processes them. What I do is use the MPLS/M2TS numbers and my tools know how to translate them to MakeMKV number when they call MakeMKV. That way, it's always consistent even if I have to reprocess a disc.

Re: Difference between index.bdmv and MovieObject.bdmv?
I agree with what you are saying in principle, but... When you select the main icon to open a BD, the title scan goes in reverse, so the lower file numbers are done last. The scan goes lowest to highest when you select the index.bdmv. Perhaps there is a way to get the default behavior reversed? I t...

Re: Difference between index.bdmv and MovieObject.bdmv?
I use index.bdmv when ripping episodes. If left up to the standard disc interrogation, the episodes are almost always out of order. Using index.bdmv rips the episodes in the correct order (I have found). index.bdmv is simply used to tell MakeMKV where the Blu-ray folder is. Selecting it doesn't aff...

I have the "Stripes" 4K and it also has these A/B titles. Oddly, PowerDVD in one of my computers will play the A version, whereas PowerDVD another computer will select B. Weird...
I checked the subtitle tracks and you're correct, the differences are in the American vs. British spellings.
