Re: UHD volume key not found 1.15.3
I'm having this exact same issue. I'm running this from a an unRAID server Docker, made by Jlesage. Pretend I'm pretty much illiterate when it comes to linux commands and what not (Because I'm pretty hopeless, to tell the truth... I like my nice easy GUI's lol) How would I go about fixing this? OR H...

Re: Lord of the Rings + The Hobbit 4K (Finally!)
How big should the dump files be? I've got the US release from Target. I've currently got Fellowship Theatrical ripping on my Windows PC. I'm trying to rip Part 1 of the extended edition on my unRAID linux based server and I keep getting a "volume key unknown error" when I try any discs on...

Re: Back to the Future won't read on my ASUS drive
Is ANYBODY else having issues with Part 3? I've tried just about everything I can think of and I absolutely cant get it to rip past a certain point in the 00294.m2ts file. 2 different machines, different firmwares/OS's, different software versions, cleaned disc, exchanged disc. Nothing works. It alw...

Re: Back to the Future UHD - Retail
I'm having issues with BTTF 3 as well. MakeMKV 1.15.3 on my linux docker gives the failed to open disc error. On windows 1.15.3 it opens fine. The disc gets hashcheck errors about 30 minutes in to the rip, however and errors out. I tried doing a full disc backup on the linux version and it failed at...

Re: The Goonies 4K Ultra HD = The volume key is unknown for this disc - video can't be decrypted
Just sent in a dump for this as well. US Retail purchased from Target. Is makemkv 1.15.3 not downloading the hash table right? Had this just happen on BTTF part 3 as well. Edit: NVM. Tried it on a second drive once I'd finished ripping a different disc and it has worked perfectly. Got a 2 LG ...

Re: Star Wars 4Ks
Good to know it worked for you. I finally managed to get 7 out of 9 discs successfully ripped. I had to folder rip every single one (except for Return of the Jedi, which worked completely normally straight out of the case) and then extract the main title to mkv from there. I also gave them all a nic...

Re: LG WH16NS60 or ASUS BW-16D1HT
Fair enough. The reliability is definitely a plus. I don't want a usb version, however. I don't want all the external wiring and whatnot. Got my server setup and running very well in a nice clean desktop tower (corsair 760t). I assume I could probably get 5.25" slim bay adapter for mounting in ...

Re: Star Wars 4Ks
I honestly believe the packaging is to blame. I very rarely have trouble with Hub mount cases, but these cardboard sleeve collector types are a pain. Not only are they impossible to get out of the sleeve without fingerprints, they add another source for scratches and defects. I could not agree more...

LG WH16NS60 or ASUS BW-16D1HT
Trying to decide between these two drives. I've currently got two LG WH16NS40's (F/W 1.00 and 1.02) that I've ripped hundreds of UHD with (at least until I got the latest Star Wars 9 disc set... ugh) I run one drive on a Win 10 pro PC and the other on an unRAID server via linux docker (my primary ri...

Re: Star Wars 4Ks
How are you cleaning them? I've seen some people use isopropyl alcohol with a microfiber cloth. Usually i just microfiber them and that's enough. If they piss me off too much I end up using dawn dish detergent and cold filter water. Always cleaning inside to outside edge. Sent from my SM-G975U usin...

Re: Star Wars 4Ks
Wow... These have been the absolute worst discs I've ever tried to rip. Nothing but read error after read error! So far I've tried episodes 1, 2, 3, and 9 with no luck at all! they all get about anywhere from 1/3 to 2/3 done and error out. I've tried cleaning them, reloading makemkv, rebooting compu...

Re: Star Wars Alien Subtitles
All UHD's, period, have hardcoded Forced subtitles. At least all of the 170+ I own do. edit: Ok, so all of the English/US title tracks (like playlist 800 on Disney Movies) have burned in forced subtitles. Still, I always have MakeMKV select all English forced tracks and it always reports back...

Sent mine in for Thor yesterday as well. US Target Cinematic Universe Edition. As of 5 minutes ago I've got it decrypting.

Re: Choppy Framerate from HD-DVD in MKV at 29.97fps
Just going to throw out my method of making HD-DVD MKV's work the same as Bluray's. It all comes down to the fact that HD-DVD's are 24fps HD files that are encoded with pulldown to make them appear as 29.97fps (this has to do with the fact that not all TV's back then were capable of 24fps progressiv...
