Re: MakeMKV 1.17.7 too old, crashes on start
If you copy the registration key on a mac by double clicking it, on pasting it has a space at the end - and so doesn't allow you to click register You just have to delete the space at end - and then it works! The "Select all" in the Code block header always picks the correct key - with Wi...

Re: Problem ripping UHD to external USB HDD?
Is your optical drive internal or external? If they are both external, they might be sharing power and starving the optical drive. Try using a USB 3 for the optical and USB 2 for portable HDD.
I use a portable HDD for all my rips without any problems.

So it's not 1.17.7.
Maybe try just copying individual titles. Sometimes DVD's print defective titles to hinder copying. It would be hard to squeeze more than three 45 minute titles on a DVD.

Hard to say without seeing any logs or knowing your operating system. If you are registered, then go to https://www.makemkv.com/download/old/ to download and test an earlier version.

See: https://forum.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=30115 In the last post MartyMcNuts says use his tool: https://forum.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=22896 and his "all-you-need-firmware" to flash it to DE_ASUS_BC-12D2HT_3.11_MK.bin Edit: According to the third post down at: ...

Re: Bum drive? Firmware error? (BU40N, disc spins and spins and spins and...)
I downloaded and moved said file, restarted MakeMKV, tried to open up the disc and ran into the same error again, indicating that 1) MakeMKV has successfully updated (navigating back to the .MakeMKV folder reveals the SDF.bin file is gone), and 2) this disc's hash keys remain unknown. At this point...

VLC Integration
Just noticed something strange. Tried to watch John Wick BR (a Lionsgate production) and it stopped at 3:36 and displayed the message below. I'm using Windows 11 Pro and VLC 3.0.18. The disc is a regular commercial disc ------------------------------------------------- Dear customer, The disc you've...

Re: MakeMKV Only Runs as Administrator
Isn't the optional "CdRom Device Arbiter" service supposed to allow MakeMKV to run without administrator privileges? There is a choice, normally checked, when you install MakeMKV. Only one user for me so I have administrator privileges.

Re: SDFtool Flasher
Marty's instructions are clear and he even includes an animation. It looks like you did the first step of writing the BP50NB40_NB50_1.03_MK binary but messed up the recovery step. When you select "Recovery" a file selector dialog opens and you need to choose the BP50NB40_NB50_1.03_MK.bin b...

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2023
Hi, I'm new to makemkv, I apologize for my stupidity. I read through the main post on the first page and think I understand what to do just want some clarification: I just bought a BP50NB40. The back of the drive says SVC:NB52. So, the only flashing I need to do then is with the SDFtool Flasher (us...
