It sounds like from what Mike said the built in SDF tool in MakeMKV command line will be used to flash the pioneer drives. This heavily suggests there'll be a new SDF.bin version released that'll contain updated code for flashing those drives. But we will have to wait and see what Mike cooks up. But...

That's why I'm resisting. My g2 is no slouch. I get over 900 nits on it. Paired with the ugoos it's an amazing setup. The c8 is showing its age but for a bedroom TV it works very well.

Maybe next year for me. I'm spending too much money this year on house repairs. But that does look promising. Maybe we'll hit 4000 at some point and be done with tone mapping altogether. I mean sure 10k but realistically if it's tone mapped to within 4000 who's really going to notice. LOL

I really wish MakeMKV could use unit keys cause there's an entry in the KeyDB that has the UK for this disc. You'd have to use something like XReveal to take advantage of it so MakeMKV could open the disc, though.
