WH16NS60 has sleep bug even on correct firmware

I feel like I've tried everything here-- just recently purchased a WH16NS60 and flashed it to 1.02MK. I have only ever gotten one disk to read successfully in MakeMKV (Rogue One 4K), but every other disk will just stop after a few minutes (showing "No disk inserted"), which from what I know is the sleep bug.

I've tried WH16NS60 firmware from the "all you need" pack as well as the MK firmware pack, and all different versions from 1.01 to 1.03. MakeMKV shows that the versions are being changed every time a new firmware is flashed, so it's clearly working.

What can I do to actually get my disks to read?

Did some testing and found that it just stops after exactly two minutes. Any disk that can be read in that time will rip just fine, but anything that’s on the larger side in terms of size (a lot of my UHD disks) won’t read because the drive times out before it can finish. I do also hear some noises that I didn’t think were normal, though I’m not particularly knowledgeable so I’m not sure what’s just normal sounds for reading a disk and what isn’t.

Always let windows initialise the disc first so you can see it in explorer BEFORE opening the MakeMKV application.

Also, clean the discs before doing anything. This is especially true for UHD discs as they often have an invisible layer of film on them from the manufacturing process. Give the disc a good wipe with a microfibre cloth before inserting it in your drive. Occasionally a disc needs more than a wipe and may need to be washed in soapy water and dried with a microfibre cloth then left to finish air drying overnight.
