ASUS Drive able to be flashed?

I've been using a Pioneer drive for DVD and BDs for years with no problems, it was LibreDrive capable although I don't recall flashing it. But it recently physically failed on me (one of the spring loaded disc retaining pins decided to launch itself across the room when removing a disc). I've got an ASUS drive hooked up right now (manufactured date on bottom says May 2026), MKV is saying LibreDrive is possible, not yet enabled. I've been reading through the forums, but I'll admit I'm very short on sleep so learning something new is eluding me. Can anyone tell me if this drive can be flashed and maybe provide a little hand-holding for me?
