Specifically I am trying to rip the "Violator" DVD.
MakeMKV reads the DVD but shows only an LPCM audio track available to tick. DTS or Dolby 5.1 surround tracks are missing.
These surround sound options are presumably present on the disc as they can be chosen from the DVD menu in VLC.

Any help welcome please.

Does the disk jacket say the DTS tracks are available?

I have yet to see a disk that has BOTH LPCM and any other track type. It seems to be exclusive when found. LPCM is a mostly uncompressed image-type audio track, which other tracks can be built from.
