I wanted to say thank you to everyone that assisted me a couple of weeks ago when I had issues with the drive

I threw it out and I bought the ASUS external and it’s worked flawlessly

Is there a real benefit to copying every file when you perform a 4K UHD backup or should I just keep the main big file?

I personally prefer to do a backup. With a complete backup you have the menus, all the languages, everything. If I happen to travel overseas and the person Im spending time with, only speaks her native language, I may have that sub or audio file already in that backup. It has its useful moments. If you have the space, do a full backup. If you happen to be "loaning" out a movie to a friend, they may be a purest, and love the menus, if watching it from their 4k player with a usb stick.
