This is Windows-specific, but could makemkvcon call `SetThreadExecutionState` at the start and end of a rip to prevent the machine from sleeping while a rip is in progress?
I believe the code would be exactly the example on https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windo ... utionstate

Re: Feature Request - Keep Machine Awake
I agree and would like to second this request!
Even when a Windows box is set to not sleep while plugged in, it still enters a low-power mode and turns off the monitor, suspends the USB ports, and spins down the drives. Effectively it pauses or even ruins the rip in progress. As mentioned in this older thread, we can use PowerToys Awake to allow rips to complete unattended.
BUT MakeMkv could make a system power request to keep it active until the rip is complete. Handbrake and Foobar2000 do this so that encoding jobs don't get interrupted while the user is away. It likewise seems like a good fit for MakeMkv. It would add some real utility and polish to an already tight tool.

Also, I wanted to say "congrats" for the shout-out that MakeMkv recently got on a Switch and Click. I hope it drives some sales for you. New users who will want power requests!
