Does copying this file into MakeMKV's data directory (i.e. where MakeMKV also writes its TGZ dump files) and restarting MakeMKV help?

I appreciate the suggestion, but I after downloading a copy over the 15th October keydb file I still get volume key is unknown. ...though that being said I've never ever been able to get makemkv to read from a keydb.cfg file, ever never.

The KEYDB.cfg file would need to contain an entry for your disk in order to help, of course. But you only need to copy the file into MakeMKV's data directory and restart MakeMKV. (For MacOS and Linux, you also need to ensure that it's
literally named KEYDB.cfg, and not (say) keydb.cfg, because these operating systems have case-sensitive filesystems.)
The data directory is displayed in MakeMKV's View/Preferences/General tab, and is where MakeMKV also writes its TGZ dump files.

The ACD0 release of
I Walked With a Zombie/
The Seventh Victim with disc ID 0x03728249E9D95B3D0870427C4B8DE26633AC170F has been added to the public keydb.
It should work with your disc.

New keys auto downloaded this morning and confirmed as now working. Excellent job.
