Hi all,
I'm just beginning to copy our movies to PC for playback in XBMC on HDTV.
I was so happy to find MakeMKV and how simple it was to use.
I started watching Avatar this morning and noticed it was MPEG2, Dolby5.1, and SD 480.
I guess I thought it would be High Definition 720 or even 1080.
Am I doing something wrong or just still ignorant to the way this all works?
Thanks in advance... be kind please.

Super Newbie... Avatar DVD playback in SD480?
Re: Super Newbie... Avatar DVD playback in SD480?
DVD = 480
Blu-ray = 1080
If you want your rips in HD, you'll need to buy a blu-ray drive and blu-ray discs. MakeMKV doesn't change anything, it simply takes whats on the disc and dumps it to your hard drive in a nicely packaged MKV container.
